The five villains hadn't been in the castle for more than five minutes before Ben and Audrey dumped them off onto another person. "And if you guys ever need anything, feel free to—" "Ask Doug," Audrey said, cutting the prince off. Val rolled her eyes as her and Ben left. Stupid princesses. She didn't care much for Audrey anyway, and she certainly didn't want to be around her... or her relentless little prince. Val raised her eyebrow at the other prince, waiting for him to follow suit, but he didn't. Prince Justin stayed right where he was, next to Doug, with a grossly welcoming smile on his face. How fucking strange.
"...history of woodsmen and pirates, and Remedial Goodness 101," Doug said, snapping the teenage goddess into the present. "Remedial goodness," Val drawled out, a dangerously sweet smile on her face. "Let me guess, new class?" Mal asked sarcastically, before turning to the group, "Come on guys, let's go find our dorms," she said. The five of them walked up the far set of stairs with Val leading the charge.
"Um guys," Doug called out hesitantly, "your dorms are this way," he pointed. "That way," Justin repeated, pointing to the second set of stairs. All five kids ran back down the stairs and up the other one as Doug attempted to list his family members. "Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, and—" "Sneezy," Carlos supplied as he walked past Doug. Val laughed as the boy dropped his chocolate wrapper right on the floor and carried on up the stairs. "Valentina!" Justin exclaimed before she could follow him. Val rolled her eyes, turning herself around.
"Yes?" She asked expectantly. Justin hesitated, taking in her bored expression and tapping toes. "Um your dorm isn't actually over there," he said, slightly taken back by the look on her face. Sure, Persephone warned them that the girl had changed, but this was not what he had prepared for. It seemed the formerly excitable girl had turned dry, cold, and brooding. "We get special dorm privileges being children of the court," Justin explained. Val raised her eyebrow. "I'd like to exempt myself from that, I'll room with the others," she said. Justin sighed, "That's... not really an option," he said carefully, "But it really is an amazing room," he added, "Come on, I'll show you!" Val rolled her eyes, clutching her belongings to her chest as she allowed the strange prince to lead her to her "special" room.
As the pair walked, Justin made it his mission to point everything out to Val. He showed her the kitchens, the game rooms, the lounges, and even his dorm room on the way to her's. Val didn't really understand why he was doing that, but she didn't stop him. The more he was talking about the school, the less he was talking to her. "And this right here is the nearest study room— there are four on each floor," Justin explained. Val nodded, only half listening as she took in the area around her. "Where are my friend's dorms?" She asked, noticing that it was the only thing he hadn't told her. "I believe 526 and 748," Justin answered as they turned the corner, "now this elevator is the easiest to get to the East building, which is where your biology class is, and the bridge to the castle."
Val raised her eyebrow at the Prince. "Bridge to the castle?" She parroted. "You know, where our parents are," Justin clarified. "And, why would I do that?" She asked. "Well I ju—" Val ignored him, snatching the key from his back pocket and opening the door with her name on it. Her dorm was huge, so huge that the entrance required double doors with beautiful stained glass tiles on the windows. Val sniffed in disgust as she slammed the door shut, thankful that the obnoxious Prince had enough sense not to follow her.
Her room was filled with knickknacks, littered with luxuries she didn't want nor need. There was a large bed in the center of the room, on a platform. A huge bookshelf, multiple televisions, paintings of people she barely remembered, and the largest window she'd ever seen in her life. Val leaned her aching body against the large double doors, dropping her stuff as she locked the doors shut. Once she heard the lock click into place she slid onto the floor, her eyes scanning the room. "This could sleep like 40 people," she mumbled, a small sigh escaping her lips as she slowly pushed herself up.
She limped around the large space. It had the largest bathroom she'd ever seen, three closets the size of bed rooms, a large fridge stuffed with food she couldn't recognize, and a bed— an obnoxiously large bed. The teenage villain groaned as she carefully climbed onto the bed. Mal's numbing spell had finally faded and the fire in her ribs was back with a nasty vengeance. Still, she toughed it out. She could handle a little pain. What she couldn't handle was the painted woman's staring at her.
Val frowned for a moment, glaring up at the face she never asked to share. The same lips, the same cheekbones, the same nose. They could've easily passed for twins, after all the only difference was the eyes and hair color. She didn't remember her voice, but the painting was more than enough to make her skin crawl.
Val scoffed, hitting the painting with a flame ball. She had no doubt that woman was her birth giver, and she refused to deal with the woman staring at her— even if it was just a painting. Val smiled at the now damaged painting. Much better. She sighed laying her head on the insanely soft pillows. Her eyes slowly closing and her arms cradling her broken ribs as she slowly succumbed to sleep. World domination could wait until morning, besides it's not like Val would be much help with her broken ribs.
