{Nott Manor - Training with Draco}

"Honestly, if you were any slower, you'd be going backwards." Draco stifled a laugh before he threw another curse my way.

I ducked as the bright flash of red rushed past my head. It sent an exhilarating thrill through my body. We had been training for no less than twenty minutes, and I was already running out of breath.

"You do realise that doesn't make any sense, right?" I spoke in a breath before casting a stinging jinx at his shoulder, to which he dodged perfectly.

"Don't test me, Fawn." He smirked, "The point is—you're slow. You need to be quick, otherwise no good will come from being as vulnerable as you are."

Draco always knew how to get a reaction out of me. He knew exactly what strings to pluck, what buttons to press. I knew it was to get a reaction, and I knew exactly what I was going to do. Because, like him, I too was good at picking the right moments to press a button I wasn't supposed to. Draco hated losing, he hated feeling humiliated. And I knew I could work with that.

My mouth gaped open, "I am not vulnerable!" I protested, "If anything, you're the one being so cocky. Look at you," I gestured to his jumping legs, "You think you're going to win-"

"That's because I am-"

"Expelliarmus!" I shouted, making Draco's wand shoot out of his hand and land perfectly into mine, "Look who's vulnerable now." I smirked.

 My smirk didn't stay on my lips as long as I would have liked it to. I suddenly noticed the shine of sharp metal travelling quickly in the direction of my head. I ducked without a second thought, completely bewildered at the fact that he aimed for my head. It was against our rules. The head was completely off-limits, only target from the shoulders down, it's easier to heal.

I moved my long hair out of my face, my jaw laid slack as I couldn't comprehend what he just did.

"See? Now that was good-"

I didn't wait to hear the rest of his sentence before I threw the dagger I kept on my thigh directly at him.

He wasn't as quick as I was.

I groaned as I heard his sharp hiss of pain. It wasn't the first time he had been so slow, or my aim had been so exponentially perfect. He crumbled to his knees, as he experienced the pain in his shoulder. It wasn't the first incident, I had stabbed him in his abdomen only a few weeks prior.

I sighed as I started walking toward him, knowing I would have to help him back to the Manor. It was often how training ended. Either one of us would get injured, or one of us would end up on top of the other. I definitely preferred the second outcome rather than having to deal with Draco's patronising comments. I knew he wouldn't let this go. But it was his fault for not moving as quickly as he was training me to. I listened to his comments and suggestions, but it seemed like he wasn't listening to himself.

I knelt down to his level and showed my concern through my brows as they furrowed at the sight of the blade. It sat there snug in his shoulder, begging not to be removed. I sighed once again before I held onto Draco's hand and helped him to stand upright.

"Let's get you cleaned up then," I smiled lightly.

"Pull it out before we apparate," He insisted as he tugged me back to look at him.

His eyes held a form of desperation, it must have been far worse than the first time I had hit him. My own eyes began to grow worried, inspecting where exactly it hit him. I was suddenly scared the blade had slotted itself right in between the bones and cartilage, enabling him to rotate his shoulder at all. I let out a breath as I realised it was just below his clavicle, not damaging him too much, but would leave a scar if I didn't clean him up properly.
