Harry's P.O.V

It hurt. It hurt looking at her, knowing she probably doesn't want anything to do with me.

I've actually craved her touch since the 10th grade.

She's a quiet girl. She keeps to herself most of the time. She always keeps a book in her possession. I envy that about her. Always reading a novel.

Her eyes are the most amazing shade of hazel. She has gorgeous hazelnut, wavy hair. It falls to her mid back. She's so tiny. About 5"1.

I haven't spoken but a few words to her. Not that I don't want to, I just don't know what I would say.

"Hey man." Logan says, while sitting down across from me.

Logan.

Coolest guy you'll ever encounter. He's very athletic. Plays soccer, baseball, football, and he does track. Great student. He's always one to do the right thing. Been my best friend since I first came to Linder Cove High School.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Boys." Maddie says, giving Logan's cheek a kiss, and sitting in the empty sit beside him.

Maddie.

Gorgeous. Smart. And just a good person to be around. Been dating Logan since Freshman year. She's a great girl friend. Always nice to everyone. She's not really into the whole "drama" thing, and that's her best quality.

"How are you?" I ask.

"Peachy." She says with a laugh.

"Ladies and gentlemen, no need to fear, the oh so handsome and talented John Thomas is here." John says while plopping down next to me.

John.

Funniest person I know. Always positive. Always making someone laugh. Plays football with Logan and I.

"Hey John." I laugh, while shaking my head.

"Guys you'll never believe what happened in Mr.Johnson's class." Lacey says, sitting next to John.

Lacey.

She's pretty great too. Smart. Funny. And the perfect girl for John. Her and John have been dating since sophomore year. She's a very athletic girl. Star of the Softball and Swim team.

And this is what life's like. I sit here and I look at her, while my friends make conversion. I really look at her.

She sits alone, but I don't think she minds, and she reads her book.

She's wearing a maroon sweater with dark jeans and black combat boots. Her hair is messily tossed to the side in a braid. She's wearing these big frames, that sit at the bridge of her nose. I think they're reading glasses though, she doesn't seem to wear them all the time.

And this is how it's been for years. Me watching from a distance. Her investing herself in the latest novel, probably not thinking of me like I do her.

But i don't want it to be like that.

I want to hold her. And talk to her. And be with her. I want her.

Her.

Adeline Henry.
