Under the Sea [Nalu]

In Love

The next day, Lucy left her palace and began to swim up to the surface with a smile on her face. She couldn't stop thinking about that pink haired who she saved last night from drowning. She had heard his name once or twice, but she pretty much forgot. She knew it starts with an "N". But, she knew she couldn't just reveal herself in front of him. She's a mermaid. Was he like the others who killed her kind? That was years ago when Lucy's mother was killed by the sailors. Only one way to find out...

"Lu-chan?" 

"Uh?" Lucy gasped as she turns around to she her best friend.

"L-Levy, what are you doing here?"

"I was about to ask the same thing to you Lu-chan." Levy said.

Lucy sighed. "Alright you got me."

Levy giggled. "So.........who got you smiling like that, Lu-chan?" 

"Huh?" Lucy said. Levy giggled again as sat to a rock near her, she suggests Lucy to sit right next to her, so she sits down.

"Well?" Levy asked as she forms a kind of evil smile. "Whose the lucky guy?"

Lucy blushed. "O-Oh Levy, I-I don't know how to tell you." She stutterd. 

Levy pouted. "Come on Lu-chan, we know each other since we were born, don't you trust."

Lucy bited her lower lip nervous. "I do Levy, but you can't tell ANYONE even my father. It's just a secret between you, me and Plue." Lucy said seriously.

"And why does it involve your dad."

"Because I-I-I...."

"You what?" Levy asked.

"I-I f-fall in love with a human." Lucy said.

Levy gasped while covering her mouth with her hands. "Oh no."

"Please don't tell my father about this Levy, who knows what horrible things my father will do with his trident if he hears this." Lucy said sobbing.

Levy hugged her. "Don't worry, Lu-chan you can count on me."

"Thanks Levy." As she gives her a kiss on her forehand.

"Your welcome Lu-chan." Levy waves at Lucy as she swims back to the kingdom and Lucy was swimming towards the surface.

Lucy popped out of the water and climbed on the rock where she could see the beach that is not too far ahead of her. That's the spot where she left Natsu there and sang to him.

Lucy sighed and form a loving smile. Suddenly, she hears a voice on the beach. She gasped and hid a bit lower to see who was coming to the beach. It's Natsu walking by, looking around in concern in his onxy eyes.

'Oh! It's him!' Lucy thought happily. Natsu stood on the beach, not close to the water, looking ahead of him. He is totally unaware that Lucy is hiding behind the rock watching him. His face was focused on the sea. Not too long ago, he heard a voice, the same voice he had heard yesterday. He knew it had to be the same girl who saved him. She could be the one for him.

"Where did she go?" Natsu asked himself, crossing his arms. "Where could she be? I couldn't stop thinking about her voice. It's so beautiful. It makes me feel happy inside. She could be the one for me. She saved me from drowning." He picked up the seashell and stare at it for a moment, and then dropped it. "I will find you. But, if you can hear me...I must know who you are." Natsu said and walked away to leave the beach to return to his castle. Lucy watched him leave and looked up to see the castle building.

"Oh my. He's the prince... No wonder he is so handsome." Lucy said with a smile. "And he wants to know who I am. But, I couldn't just show myself yet. I must find a way to get to him."

"Oooh, bad idea." Plue's voice said from behind. Lucy looked below her and found the merspirit looking up at her with worry. "Natsu is a human, and you are a mermaid. You two are different!"

"Wait...his name is...Natsu?" Lucy asked, avoiding Plue's warning. Plue nodded. Lucy sighed happily and felt her heart beat. "Natsu... That's his name. So lovely."

"Lucy, don't talk like that!" Plue said. But now he realized that Lucy is in love with Natsu. Is it because after she saved him last night? If she is in love with a human, then King Jude will be furious about it. Who knows what he could do with it? "Lucy...you're not...in love with him, are you?" Plue asked nervously. He had to ask that. He had to. Lucy blushed a bit and play with her hair a bit.

"...Maybe." She replied.

"...I knew it. On the look on your face and in your eyes, you are!" Plue exclaimed. "You can't be in love with the prince! Natsu is a human!And you are-"

"A mermaid. I know, I know." Lucy said, rolling her eyes. "But, he's different than the others we've seen last night. When he came out here just a few minutes ago, he heard my voice and really wanted to see me. He seems...sad and lonely. He said my voice makes him feel happy. He also said...I could be the one."

"How do you know he's talking about you when you don't come out and show yourself towards him?" Plue asked. Lucy went silent. She had to admit that yesterday after she saved Natsu, he could only see her face, but not the rest of herself. Will Natsu remember her face though if she shows herself towards him one of these days? But, all Natsu cares is her voice. Right?

"Come on, Plue. We have to get back before anyone else sees us." Lucy said jumping in the water and Plue follows her. Little did they know, they were being watched for the whole time...

Natsu returned to his castle and forced to put on his cape and suit and sit on his throne. Romeo came in the throne room with a smile.

"Hello, Natsu-nii. Did you have a nice walk?" He asked. Natsu gave him a shrug. "Oh, I know how you wanted to find this girl who saved you, then why don't we gather all of the women from the city? She could be around." Romeo suggested. Natsu shook his head with a sigh. He doubts that a girl from his city will ever take a night swim and then found out that Natsu was drowning in the sea. But the girl he saw was different than the rest. Her face, and her voice. A thought came in Natsu's mind. What if it's a mermaid? It could be a mermaid. What kind of a mermaid would save a human? They are afraid of humans and never come out of the water, only the King of the Sea could.

'No. It couldn't be. No way.' Natsu thought with his eyes shut.

"Natsu-nii?" Romeo called out, breaking Natsu's thoughts. Natsu opened his eyes.

"Sorry. I was lost in my head. Just thinking." He said. "Look, thanks for the suggestion and all that, but I'd rather find the girl myself. I don't want to get through with lining up the ladies." Natsu got off his throne and walk towards the door that leads to the hallway and the stairs that leads up his room.
Natsu walked towards his balcony and stare at the view of his city below around the walls and at the ocean. He won't stop searching for a girl who saved him. Everyday, he will go to the beach and find her. She is out there...somewhere.
