Ever so gently he placed his hand on my face and pulled me towards him.

I felt dizzy.

He bent down closer and tilted his head.

I could feel his breath on my lips.

My heart raced.

He was so close I could almost taste him.

I wanted to taste him.

His lips grazed mine.

An image of him Lacey tangled together flashed through my mind again. Her voice in my head moaned his name.

"Finn," I said, jerking back and breaking through my fog.

He froze and looked at me for a long moment.

I tucked my chin.

A look of sadness mixed with pleading was in his eyes for the briefest moment and then gone.

I looked down and away from him.

He sighed and took a step back.

"You should go back. Cedric will be looking for you," He said with an edge to his voice.

My blood boiled again in an instant. Everything about the last few moments completely gone.

"And Lacey will need help keeping her bed warm again."

I stormed past him leaving him alone in the dark.

Trying to be as subtle as possible, I walked along the edge of the room heading for the stairs to leave.

The ball was still in full swing and had no signs of slowing down. I knew I couldn't last another minute let alone several hours. I had a headache and just wanted to go to bed.

I was not running away. I was done with that. But I didn't want to be here, at this ridiculous ball, anymore. I had made an appearance and danced and laughed. Everyone should be happy with that.

Right as I reached the bottom of the stairs, I was pulled harshly to the side by my wrist.

"You little bitch!" Lacey pulled me to the side of the stairs in a secluded tucked-away corner, her long nails dug into my arm painfully.

"Let go of me!" I hissed at her and pulled my arm free feeling her scratch me.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" she pushed my shoulder so I was backed against the wall.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, massaging my wrist. I was actually bleeding- the little demon.

"Having just one prince isn't good enough for you? Cedric is wrapped around your tacky little finger but you still have to come ruin my night with Finneas again?" She jabbed me in the chest hard.

I pushed her hand away.

"I wasn't trying to ruin anyone's night! And it looks like things are going fine for you anyway!"

"Shut up! You know perfectly well that after he saw you hiding in the corner like a creep that night he chased after you and didn't come back! So having Cedric and being Queen isn't enough? You need Finneas in your bed too? You little slut," Lacey crossed her arms and glared at me with so much hate.

"You were the only one trying to sleep with Finn that night, I want nothing to do with him so feel free to take him, you two deserve each other," I stepped towards her now.

"You bitch!" She yelled again and grabbed a full wine glass that sat on a nearby table.

I gasped in shock as she threw the entire thing in my face. It was freezing and the alcohol burned my eyes and nose.
