the western county is a part of the heavens located in the far west of the main heavenly square. it's rather an empty part of the heavens, being solely described as an extension of the heavenly territory so no palace nor any gods had claimed the the place to be their respective abode yet.

it has been almost a week passed since hongjoong received a report of an unusual burst of spiritual power and was given a formal mission by the battle god-emperor to investigate. he is the captain of the troop assigned to this specific cardinal direction so he is very much thorough with his investigation as he doesn't wish to neglect any breach in their defenses that could very well harm the others.

he also knows the extremity of the incident, it may have been a higher chance of a foul play rather than an accidental release of that much kind of power.

"captain, the magician gods we brought already finished their tracing. they found nothing peculiar in terms of magic as well" his general san came back to report.

"hmm..." hongjoong hummed in response. "then this might not be the place yet."

"should we wait for the next scenery to appear, captain?" san asked

"yes, it is vital. so far how many sceneries had been searched?" hongjoong inquires to his general.

"we were told that the place has 5 protection sceneries. this is the 4th one"

"we will wait for the last one. this scenery is about to change anyway"

san nodded as a response and relayed their captain's decision to their troop. he doesn't have anything to do since they already done their task so he pulled an extra chair from somewhere and sat beside hongjoong in their makeshift camp.

"does this place really has 5 sceneries? i mean we don't often visit this territory but this is the first time i've heard about it" san asked hongjoong

"this place is relatively closer to heavenly square, eden and even the island of sorcerers. insighte. that is also the reason why we don't often patrol this area, it dwells in both spiritual and magical energy so anyone can get lost when that build-up affects their senses--even for gods. the ever-changing sceneries are also caused by unrestrained energies"

"our spiritual aura alone cannot protect us from its mind-confusing effects that's why we have a magic circle written around the makeshift base"

san listened to his commander's explanation, eyes still attentively checking the minor gods around them to ensure no one is missing. for a moment he glanced to the direction of heavenly avenue, the face of a particular spring god flashed into his mind. he smiled, but he quickly schooled his expression when he felt hongjoong tapped his shoulders.
