chapter eight
"as the time disappeared in his wake"
The timeline of this chapter follows that one where San lost consciousness in the museum.
The first thing san felt when he started to regain consciousness is the soft hug of the fabric against his back, lashes fluttering as he lift his lids open. His eyes met with the white ceiling, and as he shifted his eyes, he saw his mother's worried face.
Was that all a dream? He thought at first, but suddenly images came rushing to his mind like a gush of river water. The same ones from his so-called "dream", and it focuses on an image of a particular person. Wooyoung
San's tears start to fall again as he cried Wooyoung's name, his mother was greatly alarmed and immediately told san's Father to call the doctors.
"Woo..young... mom i-i need to find him..."
"Sannie baby, please calm down, who is this Wooyoung?" San's mom tried to pacify his son who is now trying to get out of the bed, but his fatigued body did not allow him to even move away from the soft mattress.
"San please tell mommy what's wrong?" san just grips his mom's clothes and cried on her chest as he keeps muttering Wooyoung's name.
But she didn't know that time, that San wouldn't able to answer what was wrong either. The memories started to go blur again and as much as he tries to retain its vividness, it's disappearing like a bubble long flying in the wind. Wooyoung's name never left San's lip but the thing is, his face is starting to fade in San's memory.
"Woo..." he called, telling himself that whoever he was calling right now... he needs to find him. even though his face is starting to disappear in his head.
A minute after, doctors and nurses came rushing to the room along with san's father who holds down his son's shoulders to keep him laying in the bed. San is now crying hysterically, the doctors have no choice but to administer medicine to calm him down.
San's mother stood in the corner, crying while she watch her son's tears constantly falling from his eyes and momentarily started to calm down as the medicine starts to work its effect. San felt his heartbeat calming down, his mind's like a clearing haze as he, once again, succumb to drowsiness.
-----
Several hours had passed and San woke up again, but this time he was rather confused. He had no idea why he was in the hospital but he saw his mom sitting beside his hospital bed, sleeping.
"Mom...?" he called weakly, gently stroking his mom's hands to wake his mom.
"Sannie? oh, thank the heavens! are you okay baby? how are you feeling?" san's mom instantly stood and face her son with a pure look of concern.
San nodded his head before looking around him, "Why am I in the hospital? what happened?" he asked, confused.
