Sana huffed as she reached the cafeteria. At times like this, she hated how big her university was. She had to walk miles just to reach the cafeteria and her classes.

She walked over to her group of friends and sat down, lunch tray in hand.

"What took you so long?" Asked Momo, one of her best friends.

Sana raised her palm, indicating her to wait as she gulped down the water. She wiped her mouth, "Classes are too faraway." She said. "Like I have to walk at least, at least 10 minutes to reach here." She grumbled.

Nayeon frowned as she smacked her arm lightly, "Oh come on, it isn't even that far." She spoke, "You're just a slow walker."

Sana glared at her, "What would you know?" She mumbled under her breath.

Nayeon crossed her arms on her chest, "Sis, we are majoring in the same field and so, have the same classes. How would I not know?" She rolled her eyes.

"Well, the distance was even longer today. You wouldn't know as you didn't come." She said and stuck out her tongue, knowing quite well what she had just said was beyond stupid.

You can't blame her though. She is a sore loser.

Nayeon gazed at her with visible disgust, "What are you even saying? Has working with Taehyung fried your brain or what?"

Sana slammed her hand on the table, "Don't even get me started on him."

"Taehyung?" Mina spoke, confusion laced in her tone. "When did Sana work with him?" Momo nodded in agreement.

Nayeon turned to the two. She and Sana were roommates so the blonde had already filled her in about yesterday but she was too tired to tell Momo and Mina as well.

"Well, it's nothing big, for some reason, the directors of the college have decided to throw a Welcome Party for the freshmen so -"

"Welcome Party? What welcome party? Why didn't we get one?" Momo spoke in between.

Nayeon pursed her lips as she continued, "Like I said, for no reason at all. Our dearest friend here just happened to sleep in Mr. Han's class yesterday and got herself a punishment to decorate the hall alongside Taehyung." She explained.

"What did he do to cross Mr. Han?" Mina said. "Isn't he like a.. nerd?"

Sana laughed, "God knows."

"Yo Taehyung!" Jimin spoke as he ran after the male. He grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks, "Didn't you hear me?"

Taehyung glanced at him and then at his arm. Jimin smiled sheepishly as he retracted his hand awkwardly. Did he have to make it so obvious?

Without answering him, Taehyung turned and started to walk again.

Jimin frowned, "What's wrong with him? I really can't deal with him anymore." He spoke exasperatedly.

You see, Taehyung's dad and his dad were really good friends and so, they wanted their children to get along well too. Jimin tried his best to befriend a detached and aloof Taehyung and always included him in every outing so he could come out of his shell and socialise more but to no avail.

He was as insensitive as ever and didn't really care for his efforts or anyone else's for that matter. The only thing he seemed to care about were his grades and he studied day and night to score perfect A's.

He stared at the retreating figure of the ravenette and sighed before walking away. He will try again later.

Taehyung, on the other hand, entered the library and sat on his usual spot, at the corner of the library where no one could see him.

He took out his calculus book and immediately started practicing for the upcoming test.

There wasn't much his parents demanded from him. He was detached and didn't converse much with them but they never made him feel bad about it.

Taehyung wanted to repay them by studying hard so he could find a stable job somewhere and give his parents the life they deserve. His family wasn't well off and him studying in one of the most prestigious collges of Korea was purely due to his intelligence.

All his life, he had witnessed his parents working all day to build a better future for him. Some nights, they wouldn't even return home. It irked Taehyung. He wanted to turn his life around and he swore he would.

Sana returned back to her dorm alone. Nayeon had ditched her earlier to go on a date with her boyfriend, Seokjin, who was three years older than her and also a graduate of SNU.

The blonde took a quick shower before she settled in her bed with her laptop and started a new series on Netflix, a cup of hot chocolate in her hand.

She smiled to herself as she took a sip, relishing in the taste. "Finally inner peace." She spoke to herself, having completely forgotten about the calculus test she had the very next day.
