CHAPTER ONE
GRACE'S POV
"Just go, Gracey. With all of these stressful issues going on around you, you and I deserve a vacation. So you go wherever you want, and I'll do the same. Stupid management," Loeyline said irritatedly while driving.
I just let out a chuckle as I enjoyed the view outside of the car. We're currently headed towards the port and my awesome manager offered me a ride. "Okay then. Enjoy your short vacation as well. I do hope it'll clear both of our minds." Loey nodded in agreement.
A couple more minutes and we finally reached the port. Loeyline helped me with my bags. I had to bring a suitcase and a couple of duffle bags for my clothes, skincare, makeup, accessories, and such. "Did you bring your whole closet for a two-night, three-day vacation?"
Another set of laughs escaped my lips. "Hey, those are just the basics. Just six pairs of swimsuits, and of course, beach sandals. I also got hats and sunglasses—"
"Okay, hush hush. You won't be able to leave if you list down everything you have in these bags." I laughed again at her remarks.
Two men neared us, I'm assuming that those are the porters of this yacht, and picked up our bags to confirm my assumptions.
"Oh my, two hotties!" Loeyline whispered beside me.
I just shook my head in disbelief before I gave my manager a quick but tight hug. "Bye, Loey. Thank you so much and take care!"
She hugged me back and walked back to the car. "Bye, Gracey! Have fun and good luck!"
I just watched her car drive farther and farther until I could no longer see it. I looked for my friends and saw Jelly first so I approached her and gave her a hug. "Hey, Jelly. Where are they? My bags were already carried to my room."
"Nako, nandoon. Nakita ko na sila roon. Winslet was the first one here, followed by Korin and Abby," she said as we walked faster towards them.
I pouted. "Does that mean that I'm the last one here?"
She nodded while chuckling. "Kung gaano ka kabilis makakuha ng balita, ganoon ka naman kabagal sa mga galaan."
When we got near them, we talked about Abby's newfound object of attention before we all went inside the yacht and enjoyed the leisure part of it. "Let's go now, huh? I want to rest on my bed. I'm feeling a bit dizzy."
I saw how Korin shook her head. "Ikaw talagang bata ka, hindi ka na natuto kung gaano karami lang ang kaya mong inumin."
I gave her a tight smile. "I'm sorry, Mommy. So, can I go back there na?" I pointed in the direction and headed to the hallway of our rooms.
"Alalayan ka na namin," I heard Jelly say but I shook my head.
"I can handle myself just fine. Just a little bit dizzy but I can walk properly." I made sure that I said those words with pure confidence.
Luckily, they believed me and let me walk alone and into my room, but before I could reach it, I accidentally felt a pair of eyes staring at me. I turned my head to search for it when I saw a man standing approximately two meters away from me. He was looking over the rail and into the wide sea.
Maybe it's me being a bit tipsy but I could see his charming features even with that distance. I could only see half of his face but I know he was handsome. He's got neat eyebrows, thin almond eyes which are currently glistening as they reflect the sunset, an aquiline nose, and pinkish thin lips.
I tilted my head a little to the side. What am I even doing? Why am I adoring his face? I slowly shook my head and turned around again, forgetting the pair of eyes that I was looking for.
I was about to hold the doorknob when someone cleared their throat behind me. I stood up straight before turning around. I'm doing a lot of turns this time, I'm feeling a little dizzier. But all my dizziness somehow faded away when I saw the man that I was admiring a while ago close to me. "Y-Yes?" I asked, feeling hypnotized by his brown eyes.
I saw him stare at me for a couple of seconds before he gulped as if he was nervous. "M-Miss Grace Chui..." I stilled when I heard his voice. T-That's a deep one.
I blinked numerous times to pull myself back up before I cleared my throat. "That's me. Do you need something?" Is he an admirer? A fan? Or a basher? Though a basher wouldn't look at me with admiration and an unknown emotion in his eyes.
He took a deep breath. "I'm Daemon Luke Santiago of Metro Scoop Magazine, and I would like to interview you about your current issue."
All of the nervousness and admiration I felt earlier went down the drain. I swear I could feel the stress rising up in my head. An interviewer from a magazine? Just when are they gonna stop pestering me?
I know that I was looking at him with irritation because he cleared his throat again, clearly uncomfortable with my stare. "I'm sorry, Miss Grace, but it would be a huge honor for me to be the first one to get your side about it—"
"Are you aware that I'm currently on vacation?" There's definitely a hint of irritation and b*tchiness heard in my tone but I couldn't care less. These people are irritating the hell out of me!
The interviewer nodded. "Yes, Ma'am, I know that but—"
"Don't you dare say another word about that issue or about that interview you want so dearly, understood? Because Mister, I wouldn't care if you put another nonsense and false issue about me just so I could get you out of my sight."
I faced my back on him and went inside my room, closing the door with my full force. Argh! Those media people just won't stop! And how did that one know where I was? The main reason why Loey drove me here is that we don't want anyone else knowing where I'll be going. I frustratedly pulled my hair as I threw myself on that bed. Argh! Please, vacation. Please don't be another mistake. And please! Make that man go away.
