Story:

Born in a broken home in Hong Kong, China, Wang Hsing was an orphan: his parents were killed by bandits and he learned how to defend himself while living in the streets.

Caught for stealing food by some monks from the town's Shaolin temple, Hsing was supposed to be punished for his actions, but the head priest felt so sorry for the young boy that he made Ling Chen, a fellow priest, take Wang under his wing and he would live with him inside the temple.

Wang and his mentor would train for hours, every day, to hone their techniques for self-defense ONLY. The reason is because the Buddhist code stopped the monks from being the aggressor.

Not only would Wang train for hours, he would take give back to his city at any chance he gets, helping orphaned children with finding a home while teaching non-profit self-defense classes, to help non-orphaned children fight back against the horrors of the world head-on.

He always enjoyed it, and when Wang was asked about it in an interview, he would state:

"I think I'm doing my job as a role model for kids who had lost their parents and had to fight for survival. I really love these kids and whenever I give back to the community, it makes me smile because I never had joy after my parents were killed. These kids deserve someone to look up to, who's seen the dangers of this world and fought back with no fear. I really want to make a difference and show that these kids can get back up when they're knocked down. I've had parents come up to me and give me their thanks for helping their kids and it just makes my day. That tells me if someone's happy for having me helping them, it's a sign that I'm doing a good job."

This would be praised by Wang's fellow priests, who always knew he would be the best Cinderella story in their temple's history.

One day, Wang and two priests were bringing back food to the temple, but he spotted a young woman getting pushed around by a group of thugs, one of them punching her face in the process.

Outraged by this action, he approached them and with his only weapon, the white wax wood staff, Wang managed to take down the thugs and rescue the girl.

The girl was thanking him for helping her until she explained that the only reason she got attacked was because she had food to bring back to her family, but the thugs ate it all, leaving nothing in return.

Feeling bad, Wang offered to buy food for the girl's family, making her feel so appreciative that the food he bought was just enough for the girl's family to make it through the whole year.

The girl was so thankful that she wished to give him something in return, but Wang refused, saying that he doesn't need to worry about it because seeing her happy was the best return possible.

After the meeting, the girl became infatuated with Wang that he failed to notice. Of course, she would try to find him, but it was no use until one day.

(A/N: If this isn't the first Xia Li fanfic, then I don't know what I'm doing with my life lol. Anyway, I wanted to do this one because I want to try a different wrestler. This is my first ever Chinese OC with the first ever Chinese WWE wrestler in the form of Xia Li.

You see, when WWE headed to China for tryouts, Xia was one of the trainees that got accepted back in 2017, but in 2018, she would make her debut in the Mae Young Classic and would make an appearance in the women's Royal Rumble in 2019.

To be frank, and I mean this with pure honesty, I really like the Xia Li we have on Smackdown because the "Protector" gimmick is working really well for me, and we all know that WWE will bury her by taking her off TV at some point. Why do I say that? I learned that if you're off TV for a long period of time soon after making your debut, people will start to lose interest in your character, so I hope that Xia is booked properly and used for some feuds that could make me wanna tune in for Smackdown, if she is.

It might not happen, but I'm being hopeful and seriously, you can't blame me for feeling that way, right? Anyway, I hope you like this backstory of this OC and onto the story we go!)
