If somebody gets hurt just because you said no, they don't even deserve to be thought off, like ever

*****************

So where are we going?" She asked him as he kept on driving on the dark never-ending road.

"Right now I'm just driving towards the main city. Once we reach there, wherever you wish for me to take you, I'll do it," He answered her like a gentleman.

But she wasn't feeling like a good little lady.

It was probably because of all the romance mafia novels she'd been reading since she became single that her brain had developed into a dirty dictionary.

Of course, her brain processed his words in some other way.

She felt herself tingle with excitement. Something was not right with her. Is this what happens when you remain single for such a long time, you reincarnate as a whore? She wondered to herself.

"You can take me anywhere you want," the moment she said the words out loud, she felt herself blush. She mentally cringed at the double meaning behind it.

But he didn't have a whore soul inside him. Thankful one of them was normal.

" Alright, we'll just decide once we get there. So tell me something about you?" He asked her as he glanced at her for a second before looking at the road in front of him.

" We did that interview, you already know me," she said.

He snorted.

"What?" She asked him shockingly but still smiled.

"Those lame questions. You call them getting to know you? You were talking like a politician then."

"What no! I hate politicians!" She said.

"Imagine!" He remarked pulling her leg.

"Okay, this is stupid. I wasn't being political with my answers. I just want to answer without giving too much away," she said.

"And you like to beat around the bush instead of giving a direct answer," he added.

"What no!" She exclaimed but he cut her off.

" And you like to say no to any allegation somebody else has about you"

" Okay enough! That's it! You're mean. Okay so I like to beat around the bush, I hate direct answers. So what? Many people do that! I'm very nervous and protective when somebody asks me about my personal life," she said.

" So a politician..." He said, teasingly.

"For fucks sake, no", she said in an enraged tone but she was loving the banter and the smile on her face and the cute little roll of her eyes let him know that.

"So would you be nervous and protective of your personal life if I asked you something?" He asked her softly.

Nathan was treading very carefully. It was like trying to walk on water.

He desperately wanted her to tell him everything but he knew she would need time.

He wanted to know what Sam did so he could do all the things opposite.

As he looked at her deep in her thoughts, he had a very strong feeling of jealousy that Sam got to see her, read her, be with her at her very best moments, and that too effortlessly.

But for him, she was going to be a maze. He knew it. But if she gave him a chance, he would make her forget all those years she had with him in a day.

He needed just a day.
