An infographic is a collection of imagery, data, charts, and/or text that provides an easy-to-comprehend overview of a topic. Some topics do much better when presented visually, giving your audience a colorful and memorable representation of the information you want them to understand. It's a fun way to break up an otherwise text-heavy article, or to showcase aesthetics and quotes from your work. They can easily be shared to your social media accounts through links. Infographics perform best on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
If you don't already own a graphic design program, Piktochart is a visual content maker that helps users create high quality infographics as well as other visual content.
There is also Canva, a free-to-use graphic design platform for creating social media graphics, posters, book covers, infographics and tons of other visual content. Canva Pro is their paid subscription, which provides many cost saving benefits, like access to thousands of royalty free images and an easy, one-click background removal tool. The Bootcamp Mentors team is not affiliated with Canva and do not receive sponsor benefits from promoting this product.
There are plenty of online sources and articles that go into more depth on things like the optimum size for infographics (based on the social media platform you're posting to), the best types of infographics, and what sort of content should go into an infographic. We challenge you to have fun with this versatile and visually-stimulating form of online sharing.
