Thirty minutes went by with Roman ranting about why he is upset. Maverick tried to ignore him, but Roman talked so loudly his voice pierced Maverick's ears even with the headphones on.
Roman was telling him what had happened a day ago and how his father basically fired him. He was talking with a furious expression, but then he went silent and a mystified expression came over his face as if he suddenly forgot who he was.
Maverick looked up over at him hoping he was done ranting. "Are you finished?" He asked raising his eyebrows. Roman didn't answer him. He stared into space deep in thought with a gentle smile.
Maverick narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing?" Roman turned to him with mushy eyes. "I met someone that night." "Who?" "A girl." "What girl?"
"I-I didn't get her name..." Roman answered turning pink. "You didn't get her name?" Maverick questioned becoming intrigued. "So, you never met her then." "She was like a glowing angel." Roman said ignoring Maverick again.
"As I was walking through the city, I came to a water fountain and I saw her on the other side of it. She... She looked sad... but somehow she made sadness look attractive."
A disgusted expression covered Maverick's face as he listened to Roman. He had never seen him like this before and he was thankful he never had. It was disgusting.
Roman's eyes widened with excitement. "Maybe she will be there again! She said she would be! What if she is?! I need to talk with her again!!" Maverick rolled his eyes. "Why do you care? It's not like you could have feelings for her anyway. You're as heartless as they come!" He laughed.
Roman's smile disappeared and his eyes went down with emptiness. A confused feeling came over him. Maverick was right. Why did he care about her? He had never and still doesn't have feelings for anyone. He doesn't even understand love. To him it's just a changing emotion.
He got so caught up in his thoughts he didn't hear Maverick still talking. "Roman?" Maverick called noticing he wasn't responding.
Roman let out a heavy sigh and ran his fingers through his hair. "Another question I can't answer." He sighed. "Were you even listening to me?" Maverick asked with a frown. Roman looked him in the eyes with a blank face. "No, I wasn't."
Maverick narrowed his eyebrows and lowered his eyes with an irked expression. "Get out." He said in a sharp tone. Roman crossed his arms and lowered his eyes. "No." Maverick pointed to the door. "Leave!"
"I don't want too." Maverick widened his eyes. "No, no, no!" He yelled waving his hands in the air. "You're not sleeping over!!" " Why!?" " BECAUSE!!"
After arguing about it, Roman ended up spending the night even though Maverick persisted he wouldn't let him.
Roman made himself at home and did whatever he wanted till night came. Maverick entered his bedroom to see Roman laying in his bed with Maverick's pajamas on.
He was scrolling on his phone and didn't see Maverick enter. "Are those my clothes?" Maverick asked pointing at him. "And why-why are you in my bed? You are not sleeping in my bed!"
Roman looked down at his pajamas and up at Maverick. "Uh-where do you expect me to sleep?" "In the guest room!!" Roman's eyes widened with an horror expression. "No way!! The guest rooms are either creepy, freezing or the beds are too hard!"
Maverick stomped to the other side of the bed. He violently pulled the covers back and threw himself into the bed. "Well you wanted to stay here." He retorted.
