Chapter III

"Sure ka bang pwede ka diyan?" tanong ni Dave kay Christian. Nasa harapan sila ngayon ng isang hospital room kung saan naka confine si Karylle.

"Why not, I did no wrong." He said, smelling the flowers that he is now holding he let a grin.

"Sigurado ka ba talagang wala?" Mahinang tanong ni Dave ngunit umabot pa din sa tenga ni Christian.

"Hoy! Ikaw!" Christian said sabay lapit kay Dave and then he talked like he almost whispered. "Pag yang cheap mong bunganga bumuga, alam mo na kung anong mangyayari." He said, fixing himself, he faced Dave again.

"Just stay here. Ako nalang ang papasok." Then he knocked the door. When it was opened, napaupo at napakamot lang ng ulo si Dave at nagsalita ng pabulong na animoy kausap ang sarili.

"Oh! Christian you're here" Mrs. Tatlonghari said.

"Yes, ma'am. Nabalitaan ko po kasi yung nangyari kay Karylle, kaya po ako napadalaw dito"

"Buti naman at nakapuslit ka iho! Salamat sa concern sa anak namin." Mr. Tatlonghari said, he stood up, tsaka inakbayan ang misis nito. Chewy on the other side remained silent.

"Nag- almusal ka na ba iho?" the woman asked while smiling prettily to him. Chewy felt annoyed, but instead of looking at him, she tried to focus herself to Karylle.

"Opo! By the way lilies po for Karylle" he said.

"Salamat iho, pakilagay nalang sa table ni Karylle. Magugustohan niya yan." She added.

"Paborito yan ng anak namin." Mr. Tatlonghari said.

"Oh siya, andito na din naman kayong dalawa, and our daughter's condition is now stable too. We should take our leave now. Modesto will be in his office soon too." Karylle's mom said and then stood up.

"Okay po mama, papa. Ingat po kayo on your way home." Tumango lang ang mag- asawa.

"Just call us when our princess is awake" Mr. Modesto said. Chewy nodded tsaka bumeso na sa dalawa, and then she escorted the couple going out from the room.

Ng makaalis ang mag- asawa, silence scattered all over the room.

"What exactly happened to Karylle?" Christian broke the silence. They are now sitting in front of Karylle's bed. Chewy couldn't find an exact answer but she tried to remain normal.

"What exactly happened to her really? Hmmm, can you think of any idea?" She returned the question to him. Christian remained very casual.

"Well, I guess she must be very unfortunate last night. Wala naman sigurong taong galit kay Karylle. Who would want to be angry with this pretty angelic face?" He said while staring at Karylle's face.

"Exactly, if someone then planned for it, and was then proved, it would be considered as criminal offense right?" Patay maling tanong ni Chewy kay Christian, sabay tingin dito.

Karylle walking on the dark streets saw some men along the road. She tried to check if there are any other ways for her to pass, but she can't find any. Kaya dirediretso lang siyang naglakad at naisip niyang wag nalang tumingin sa direksyon kung saan may mga lalaking nakaupo sa gilid ng daan. Karylle could feel her heart beating so fast. She was walking faster, and faster, at ng makalapit na siya sa kinaroroonan ng mga lalaki, one man stood up.

"Hay miss, Edgardo nga pala" He held his hands. Nag smile lang si Karylle at tsaka dumiretso na. She thought that the men will let her pass, pero sinundan siya ng mga ito. Natatakot na si Karylle dahil ang dilim- dilim din ng daan na dinadaanan nila. She forgot the reason why she's walking there right now, at kung bat andun siya. Binilisan niya ang kaniyang pag- lalakad. Bumilis din ang lakad ng mga lalaki, naiiyak na si Karylle at bumubulong ng tulong.
