(Heyyy welcome back everyone! Hope your week was alright, here's an update for ya! Comment goal is 7!)

One second, Kanata was scoring a layup, and the next, he was being pulled off the court by an extremely angry looking Aomine. Practically pinning him against the wall, the ace gripped the bottom of his shirt and lifted it, revealing the bruises to the protesting Kise and Kuroko.

Kanata's face went red at the action.

"Tell me what the hell this is," Aomine demanded, his lips pulled back in a snarl as his eyes practically blazed.

"This is..." The brunette grimaced, swatting the ace's hand away so that his shirt fell back in place. "Kinda embarrassing, actually..."

"I don't care, tell me," His voice softened, as if trying to reassure him even while his expression had barely changed in the slightest. Kanata rubbed the back of his neck as he smiled sheepishly.

"You see, somebody body-slammed me into the railings on the subway this morning, but they were in a hurry and I wasn't, so it's not really that big a deal," He explained, his smile widening. "Sorry if that worried you, but I promise it's okay."

"Oh..." All anger had drained from Aomine's face, leaving him kind of embarrassed for overreacting and just sort of surprised. "Is that it.. My bad, I thought something bad happened or something," He laughed sheepishly.

"No worries," Kanata waved him off.

"Then, shall I take you on, Kise?" Aomine was quick to get himself out of the awkward situation, meaning he didn't notice the brunette sigh in what looked to be relief. Kuroko's eyes narrowed.

"You're on, Aominecchi!"

"Yo Kana-chin," Murasakibara poked his head into the gym. "Mind if I steal some of your snacks?"

"Go for it," The brunette gave him a thumbs up with a warm smile. "Leave some for me, though."

"You got it," He replied, disappearing back into the hallway and closing the door behind him. After that, practice went as usual, and luckily, no one else commented on the bruises if they managed to catch a glimpse of them.

After practice was over and he was on his way home, Kanata could feel someone watching him. However, having experience with that kind of situation, he held his keys in his hand just in case something happened, and proceeded to get his phone out and pretended to call someone.

(as a dude, I've never had to do this so my women out there that do this stuff, can you confirm I'm writing it correctly?)

The feeling of being followed didn't stop, and when he got on the subway, he managed to get a good look at the person, and almost deadpanned. Why is Aomine following me? He asked himself, sweat dropping. And in a black jacket with the hood up, no less. Talk about a lazy disguise.

Luckily, I'm not meeting any clients today, that would be bad, Kanata sighed, running a hand through his hair. I'm pretty good at shaking people if I really need to, though.

Soon enough, he arrived at his stop, getting off along with Aomine. Now I'm sure this guy is following me, he deadpanned as he made his way home. But why?

"I'm home," He called once he'd unlocked and opened the door.

"Welcome back!" His grandmother peaked around the corner with a huge smile on her face as Kanata took his shoes off and put his bag down. "We're having curry for dinner, so hurry and wash up!"

"Sure thing oba-chan," he said, making his way to the bathroom.

"Don't push yourself too hard," His grandpa reprimanded, sitting at the table while his wife fussed in the kitchen. "I told you I don't mind cooking-"

"And grant me an early grave? No thank you," She huffed snarkily, causing him to tut in annoyance. He couldn't refute, though.

"Ah, it smells so good in here," Kanata popped back out of the bathroom, hands freshly washed, and pecked his grandma on the cheek quickly before plopping down in his chair. Giving his grandpa a fist bump, the house was soon filled with chatter as the happy family ate their dinner.

It was so nice to be able to eat with his grandparents that the brunette almost forgot there was someone watching him from outside. Almost.

"Uhh what are you doing here?" Kanata's mouth was practically hanging open once he'd stepped out of the house the next morning. Right in front of him stood Aomine, already in his uniform and looking ready to head to school.

"Waiting for you," He deadpanned. "Obviously. Come on, I'll walk you to school."

"Okayyy..." The brunette trailed off, deciding not to argue since that would just waste time and potentially make them late. Thus, a moment later, the two were walking side by side in silence as they made their way to the station.

"...I'm sorry," Aomine was the one to break the silence.

"For what?" Kanata questioned with a raised eyebrow as he glanced at the ace.

"I know you know I was following you yesterday," He smiled slightly. "I did that because I didn't really believe you when you said it was an accident, but after seeing how well you and your grandparents get along, I can see that it really was the truth. I won't doubt you from now on."

"Oh, so that was it," Kanata chuckled. "Don't worry about it, but maybe next time instead of stalking me," He held his hand out for a handshake. "Just ask to come over, we'd be glad for the company!"

"Sure," Aomine's face softened as he gripped his teammate's hand. "I'll be sure to do that."

From there, the two arrived at the station and soon were transported to the station near their school. Chatting a bit as they made their way into the sunshine, Kanata and Aomine looked to be best friends as they'd lightly shove each other and laugh.

"Ah, I'm going this way," Kanata said once they got to the school. "I'll see you at practice, Aomine."

"Yeah, for sure," They high fived, grinning from ear to ear before parting to go to their separate classrooms. Right as he stepped through the door, however, the ace recalled that he should have asked what class Kanata was in so that they could have lunch together.

Sadly, when he turned around to check if his teammate was still there, he found that Kanata was nowhere to be seen. "Oh well," He shrugged it off. "We've got two years, I'm sure I'll remember to ask before we graduate."
