[FOUR YEARS LATER]
Jisung's pov
I glanced out the window of the car as we drove down the countryside road. It's been too long since we've been out here.
The leaves were turning to a shade of crimson and vibrant oranges as the wind gently blew them to the ground.
On this brilliant autumn day I find myself thinking of the spring, imagining that this warm sunshine has come to melt ice and snow. For a few moments I find myself believing it, thinking of the flowers that come, the brilliant petals of pink and gold, the flowers of pure white.
Then I remember with a laugh... this is autumn and she has her own special ways to bring beauty. She gives by enlivening the senses, by making what could be dreary into the most bewitching of natural art. She gives by bringing a fresh start, feeding the soils and kissing the trees into their patient slumber.
As the season deepens their graceful boughs will be the prettiest of charcoal sketches, drawing themselves tall, reflecting the light of a wintry sun.
I look down at my hand as I play with the little silver band wrapped around my ring finger.
I looked at Hyunjin, admiring his features. His newly dyed blond hair reaching just below his eyebrows. On hand on the wheel and the other on my thigh, a matching band on his ring finger that sparkled when the sun hit it at just the right angle.
He noticed me staring and shot me a smile, before looking back at the road, rounding the curve, before turning down a dirt road.
We were almost there.
I felt a little nervous, I haven't seen these two in couple years since Hyunjin and I have been traveling due to business endeavors I've had to participate in. I managed to turn my fathers company around place a good image on it.
And a two week honeymoon added onto that may have postponed this little visit.
We pulled up to the little country home and Hyunjin parked the car.
There were other familiar cars parked on the gravel driveway, and I was becoming so very eager to get inside.
"You ready, baby?" Hyunjin asked, unhooking his seatbelt.
I did the same and nodded as we both got out of the car and synchronizingly shut the car doors.
As soon as we did, I saw two familiar faces step out of the house.
"Jisung!!" Jeongin ran to me, throwing his arms over my shoulders. "I missed you!" His hair was dyed blue and he was much taller than when I last saw him.
