It wasn't a long time before we made it to Devon's house since it house wasn't very far from the park. His house was sooo nice. It felt so safe and homely. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. We went to his room to go watch a movie and make some popcorn. His room was so cool! Way cooler than mine. I didn't realize I was starting to drift until Devon started talking.

"I guess we could make the popcorn first," Devon said trying to end the awkward silence.

"Yeah! what's your favorite type of popcorn?" I asked. I really wanted to get to know more about Devon.

"I loveee cheesy popcorn but movie popcorn is the bestt." Devon explained.

"I couldn't agree more" I admitted.

"I actually have a popcorn machine, we could make it there!" Devon added.

"Okay!"

"So what movie should we watch?" Devon asked.

"I don't know, maybe a horror movie, I love horror movies!"

"Me too! I love anything horror, maybe Halloween?" Devon said.

"Yess! the first movie is such a classic." I agreed.

"I know right, Laurie Strode has to be my favorite final girl," Devon added trying to keep the conversation going.

"Agree, hands down"

We both laughed and Devon turned on the movie.

Halfway through the movie, there was a jump scare that gets me every time I watch. I jumped and clung onto Devon and didn't even notice until a minute later. Hopefully, he didn't mind, he didn't stop me or anything. It was actually kinda cute. I'm just glad I didn't have the popcorn in my hand or that would've been a huge mess.

During the last part of the movie Devon seemed weird. He seemed like he was zoned out thinking about something. I wanted to know what he was thinking about, but at the same time, I didn't wanna bother him. I decided to ask him anyway.

"Hey Devon, what's on your mind?" I finally asked.

"You" Devon joked.

I blushed so hard, I really hope he didn't notice.

"I'm just kidding sorta. I was actually thinking about what you said earlier." Devon said.

"Oh, what about"

"I was just thinking about when I asked what was keeping you in Hackensack and you said you wish you could tell me but not yet. I guess I've just been thinking about what could be keeping you here"

"Oh um well, I guessss I could tell you. The thing that's keeping me here in Hackensack... is you."

"W-wait really?"

"Yeah... I stayed because I didn't like the idea of not seeing you every day."

"Is it weird that I feel the same way?"

"No, not at all" I laughed

They leave the conversation there but there wasn't an awkward silence or pause. Only a feeling of relief knowing that they finally knew they liked one other. Yeah, they hadn't actually said it but they could feel it.

(First Person Pov)

Jake was about to leave but Devon didn't want the night to end just yet. "Bye Devon," Jake said walking out the door. Before he could fully leave Devon grabbed him gently, turning him around. Jake was caught by surprise. Devon didn't blame him though, he'd be surprised too. Their faces slowly met and without thinking, Devon pulled Jake in for a kiss. Their lips met gently. Devon had been wanting to do that all day and Jake couldn't believe it, he couldn't remember the last time he felt this happy. They both looked at each other and smiled. Jake didn't want it to be over just yet, he wanted to be able to feel this moment again. Jake pulled Devon in for yet another kiss. This one lasted way longer. As they pulled apart, they couldn't help but laugh. They didn't know why they laughed but they found it cute. "That was... wow," Devon said. "I know..." Jake said. They both smiled and it was obvious they wanted to kiss again. Jake realized it was really really late and he had to go home no matter how much he didn't want to. They both loved every moment of this night and wished it never had to end.

"That was really g-great, thanks for such an amazing day Devon!"

"Anything for you Jake!"

So this is probably the last part of this story. I might continue this story and do their first real date or I might just do one-shots. Maybe even both. Let me know which you would like better!
