    Devon's Pov

It was the morning after the party in which the night seemed perfect, but ended up sour. I really messed up yesterday, I got super drunk at the party and ruined the night. I checked my phone to see if there were any messages. None. I knew I had to go to Jake's house and apologize. It was all just a mess that I wanted to be fixed. I started making my way over to his house. The walk wasn't long but on my way over it started snowing. I was not prepared at all so I started to get really cold. I tried to make it to his house as soon as possible.

I finally made it. I hesitated to knock. I didn't wanna do something else I'd regret. I knocked anyway and waited for someone to answer.

Jake  opened the door. We just stood there for a moment. I decided to speak first to break the silence.

"I'm sorry for not texting you, um I just thought it'd be better in person," I said. I was still outside freezing before he finally let me in.

"Come on in, you're probably freezing," he said in a low tone. "Where's you're coat?"

"Oh um, I forgot it, I didn't think it would snow"

"Oh well you could borrow mine on the way out," he smirked. "Let's go to my room, it's quieter."

We made our way to his room. I've never been in it before. Usually, we just go to my house whenever we hang out. I bet he's wondering if I remember what happened yesterday, I did remember, more than I wish but I didn't know how to bring it up. I just really wanted to apologize and now was the time. I realized I probably should've planned out what I was gonna say before I left but it's too late for that now. I don't know why but I just started blurting out apologies.

"I'm so sorry for getting so drunk yesterday. I don't normally drink but I don't even know what came over me. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I said I love you, I meant it but it came out at the wrong time and I'm sorry you had to watch over me, it's all my fault." I said, starting to cry.

"Slow down. You don't have to apologize. I understand." he paused for a moment like he was thinking about everything I said. That really made me worry. "Wait... you actually love me?" he said trying to resist smiling. He failed, and a small smile crept onto his face, making me feel better.

"Yes, you idiot. I meant everything I said, it was just bad timing."  I said.

He paused again, longer this time. It was like he wanted to say something but he couldn't get it out. He finally responded with, "I love you too."

"I love you more," I said.

"Okay, how about we love each other equally"

"Fineeee"

The laughing started to die down. Jake seemed like he was recalling something.

"So remember yesterday when you were drunk... and said you were gonna make it up to me?" he said. "It's still kind of early, and it's snowing a lot, wanna go sledding?"

"Are you asking me out on a date?"

"Obviously I'm asking you out on a date."

"I know, I just wanted to tease you. I'd love to go sledding." I said. I was so excited but then I realized something. "Oh wait, I need my coat. Can we stop by my house on the way?"

"We could do that OR you could borrow one of mine, I have plenty."

"Okay!" I said. Oh my gosh, I get to borrow one of his coats. He has the best style ever.

Jake had a few coats to choose from but I chose the fleece-lined corduroy jacket. He didn't have any sleds so we decided we would just rent them at the sledding hill by the park. We could also get some hot chocolate if we got too cold. The hill wasn't very far so we decided to walk there. I hope it's not too crowded so maybe we could get some time alone.
