Chapter 8

"Karl?! Bad?!"
Ranboo was shocked. For one thing Karl and Bad were having a civil conversation. For another, they were coming to see Tommy.

"Hey Ranboo!" Bad started, "You appear to have lost someone!"
"Hi dad!" Michael exclaimed, "Meet friends!"
"They're very nice Michael," Ranboo assured, "but we have to go home now ok?"
"Okay!"
"Say bye to your new friends."
"Bye!!" Michael yelled as he started to run off. Ranboo mouthed a quick 'thank you' and took off after their son.

"Now Bad, what deal did you make exactly?"
"Karl I told you already, I find out who did this to Tommy, and The Egg will back off!"
"And how do you know The Omelet will tell the truth?"
"I lose nothing by trusting The Egg here, calm down."
"Fine. I'm only doing this because it will help Tommy."
"Great"

Later that day

Ranboo's P. O. V.

I decided to stop at Techno's on the way home. Michael likes Phil anyway. Hopefully Michael will have a reasonable bedtime tonight, so then I can watch Tubbo when he gets up around midnight.
As we leave the nether Michael takes off towards the beacons, leaving me out of breath when I get to Techno's. I roll up to see Ayuna calming Michael down in Piglin. (He is fluent in Piglin because he is from the nether. Phil and Tubbo teach him English, but Tubbo hasn't been doing well enough to recently.)
"Hello Ayuna. Thank you for calming him down"
"It's no big deal, Ranboo. Besides, the little one's cute."
"His name is Michael."
Michael then proceeded to excitedly greet Ayuna in Piglin again. This alerted Techno and Phil of our presence.
"Ranboo, what are you doing here?" Phil asked. "I need someone to tire out Michael so I can sleep. I also need to talk to Techno in private." Ranboo replied.
"Well me and Ayuna can watch Michael while you talk to Techno, and you can nap afterwards," Phil decided.
"Alright. Come on Ranboo," Techno said already walking away, Ranboo following closely.
"So what did you want to talk about?"
"Eret has requested Ayuna's assistance at his castle. He asked me to pass on the message."
"No."
"But-"
"No."
"Techno!"
"What!?"
"He has a lead on freeing Tommy!"
"What...?" Techno regretted shouting now. He was just so scared of losing Ayuna....
"Techno... Techno..." Ranboo was repeating. Techno, having calmed down asked, "What does Eret want again?" "He has a lead on how to free Tommy and Ayuna could be helpful," Ranboo took a breath, "He said you could come too but nobody else." Techno sighed, "It's close to nightfall. Go upstairs and sleep. I'll talk this over with Phil and then wake you when you have to leave." "Ok," Ranboo replied and went upstairs.
"Phil!" Techno called. Techno already knew what Phil was gonna say but figured that he deserved to be filled in.

Third Person P. O. V.

Phil said to help Tommy. So Techno and Ayuna ended up spending the night at Snowchester with Ranboo, Tubbo, and Michael. Techno was impressed with how well Ranboo was doing with less than five hours of sleep a day, but decided to take care of Tubbo that night to be nice.
The next morning Techno and Ayuna set off to Eret's castle to start working on "Eret's" idea.

A later that day

"Mistress, someone requests your presence."
"Who dares to speak with me?"
"A demon and a time traveler are helping to pass the message. They are obscuring the identity of the person requesting."
"Hmm. What is the location?"
"A place called the Dream SMP. The words 'son' and 'granddaughter' were mentioned as well."
"Very well. Send a reply stating that I will meet them tomorrow at midnight. It seems someone is about to make a deal with death."
