In and out of the water they went. The lifeguards were working hard on keeping the beachgoers safe. The swell was big, and the rips were vicious. Most of the people on the beach were local as the holiday season was over and school had started. There was a cool chill in the air, but the water was still warm thanks to the currents.

"That one was a tough one!" Reidy said as Jethro climbed into the Rhino. "The waves weren't exactly being easy to you today."

"Yeah, its cranky out there mate. Now I wish I didn't I forget to stretch after the workout" Jethro said trying to stretch out his shoulder.

"oh, we got another one!" Reidy said taking of his shirt. "I got it!" Jethro grabbed the board and went out. "geeze kid" Reidy mumbled to himself as he sat down again picking up the binoculars.

"Tower to rhino, there are three people caught in the rip at southend"

"Copy that" Reidy answered. He signaled for Jethro to get in just as he got out of the water after a rescue. Jethro jumped in as they went as fast as they could to get to the people in trouble. There weren't a lot of people on the beach today, so the number of lifeguards were few and stretched over the beach.

"Three people in the south rip" Reidy said. "aight" was all Jethro managed to say before they arrived.

Jethro POV.

I jumped out of the rhino and ripped of the shirt, grabbed the board, and sprinted towards the water. I jumped in and tried to get some speed before jumping on the board, I knew Reidy was right behind me.

There were three girls. The two furthest out looked to be in more trouble so I went passed the first one letting Reidy take her. I pushed again the waves until even when I felt a burning feeling in my muscles.

"Grab on!" I shouted grabbing the girls by the arms and bringing them up to the board. "Lay down towards the front of the board!" I said as I moved back on the board to give more space to them.

I saw out of my peripheral vision that Reidy already was on his way back with the first girl. That's a relief at least.

The currents turned yet again and before I knew it, we were heading towards the rocks. The board was now too heavy to turn thanks to the added weight and the harsh waves. And to tell the truth, I wasn't exactly the bulkiest nor strongest out of the team.

With a quick decision made, I paddled towards a part of the rocks where it appeared safest. But none of the places on the rocks seemed safe. I waited for the waves to take a break before pushing to get on the rocks.

A big wave surprised all three of us and we got washed up on the rocks.

I could tell I hurt something, but the adrenaline rush dimmed all my feelings and increased my will to live. I stood up and picked up the smallest girl as she seemed to have taken a hit. I could see some blood on her but nothing serious.

"Hurry! Get up!" I shouted as I grabbed the other girl's hand as she was still sitting down. "Can you walk?" I asked her. She seemed a bit shocked "Y-yes!". I told her to climb up the rocks as fast as she could seeing as she wasn't hurt.
