TWELVE

*Slight spoiler for season 2 at the end*

Apparently, Griffin and Gia had been at my house when Gia got a call about Rue. She was emitted to the hospital due to her severe kidney infections. They waited for me at the house before we all went to visit her.

We had to wait in the waiting room till they were able to get Rue comfortable, throughout the night I hadn't heard from Fez. Not even a simple text. It worried me slightly, but I decided to ignore it and deal with it later.

Eventually we were able to visit Rue. Last night I ended up taking Griffin and Gia back home with me, they said we wouldn't be able to see her until the morning anyways.

Gia and Griffin had stayed with her for a few hours, but I remained with her the entire time she was glued to her bed. I had nowhere else to go, and she managed to sneak us a few pills every once in a while.

We roamed the halls during her stay, checking in on some patients we've made friends with. I still haven't heard from Fezco since the night Nate and Maddy stopped at the store. I was worried, but after catching the hint that he was ghosting me I stopped trying to reach out to him. Rue was going through something with Jules too, so we both tried to keep each other occupied.

"Oh my god," I whispered, "that's beautiful" I spoke, speechless.

I reached out to grab the necklace in Maddy's hands. We were stood in her large room, getting ready for the dance. Maddy had done my makeup and let me borrow one of her dresses. I didn't want to go, but after telling Maddy, my decision had been changed for me. Maddy refused to let me skip out on what she calls, 'the best night of our lives'. I laughed at the thought, I didn't want to get all dolled up just to be groped by random boys. It just doesn't sound like a good time to me.

"Turn around I'll put it on you." she spoke, I looked back to her with a small frown.

"No Maddy, it's yours you need to wear it, plus I have my necklace I'll be fine" I replied as I pushed the necklace back into her hands. She didn't say a word as she held it up to my neck, quickly clasping it behind me. I gave her a small smile before giving her a tight hug as well.

"Even if this stupid dance turns out to be the worst night of my life, thank you and I appreciate you." I told her. She smiled before responding.

"I appreciate you too, bitch" she finished with a smile. Her gum smacked around her mouth as she leaned to one side. I laughed at her words before looking over myself in the mirror one last time. I slightly frowned, feeling self-conscious in my dress. It was emerald green and hugged my curves perfectly, the glitter covering it sparkled in the light as I slightly twirled. Usually when I get dressed up, it's for a lame party where everyone's so fucked up to even notice what you wear. But this was a real dance, I felt a certain pressure to look perfect.

"We look hot as shit" I heard Maddy speak. I was brought out of my trance and looked up, giving her a small smile. She sprayed herself with a million puffs of perfume as I checked the time on my phone.

"I'm going to go tell Griffin we're leaving. I'll be right back." I told her, moving towards the door. She hummed in response, still fixing herself in the mirror.
