Xavier POV
"I knew you liked her!" "Monica-" "Shut up! Out of all people her? Seriously?!! She's a geek." Monica was walking down the street and happened to see us kissing. But I wasn't going to fight for Monica, she's been cheating on me with Chris for awhile now. "Just get out the car and tell me you don't love her."
I stepped out of the car and told her; "You know nothing about love, you think I didn't know you were cheating on me? How stupid do I look?" "I-I can explain." "Really? please do." "You were always busy and I barely had time to see you, and we never did anything together, that's why I was always with Chris." "That's the worst excuse I've ever heard. We're done." "Xavier, wait." I got back in the car and looked to Maya, "Let's take you home."
This has to be the best night of my life. He didn't want her, but why me? Out of the people in that hell hole of a school, he chose me? That kiss, oh my god his lips were amazing. He pulled into my driveway and looked at me. "I'm sorry you had to witness that. In my book I think you're amazing, and beautiful and very, very, far from a geek, or a nerd or anything anyone calls you."
I could finally be with her, after the cheating and lies from Monica I want someone real. I would never be embarrassed of her, so what if people stare. But I'm getting ahead of myself I haven't even asked her out....yet. But who knows, maybe she already has a boyfriend, I wouldn't be surprised if she did.
We sat in his Jeep not saying anything. After the situation with Monica it started to rain. I didn't bother to get out the car because I would probably get soaked. Does he regret kissing me? I think he might, because he felt guilty after it happened. But he dumped Monica, so what does that mean for me and him?
The rain came to be a light drizzle, Maya clenched the handle to open the door and I stopped her. "Wait," "Yes?" "Can you not tell anyone about the breakup? I don't want to be bombarded with a bunch of questions." "Of course not, that's your personal business." "Thank you, some people just don't understand." "I do." I looked up at her chocolate brown eyes, "You're the only one that gets it." She smiled warmly at me before opening the door. "I'll see you tomorrow!" I yelled out the window, she laughed and waved goodbye before going inside.
