Xavier's POV
I still can't believe she agreed to the date or whatever this was. I hope I'm not moving too fast or pushing her into things. I decided that we should go to the next town over so we don't run into people from our school.
I literally have no idea what I'm going to wear. He didn't tell me if it was a casual date or if I had to wear a dress. I could just go in sweatpants and surprise him. I kept searching through my closet trying to pick out an outfit.
I probably should have told her how to dress. I don't think it matters what she wears. She'll look beautiful either way. I'm supposed to pick her up an hour from now. I better get in the shower and figure out what I'll wear.
I decided to wear a cream sweater with a cardigan, my black boots and a black beanie. Hopefully this isn't too much. I called Emily to update her on what was going on between me and Xavier. "Hey," "Hey, what's up. " "Well, I just finished getting dressed for my outing with Xavier. " "Hmmm...I sense feelings here...Do you like him?" I tried not to smile so much so I could give her an answer. "I think... I'm starting to have feelings for him" I held the phone away from my ear as she started to scream.
After I finished my shower, I pulled on a pair of jeans and a nice shirt. I got in my Jeep and started to drive to her house.
I had been ready for awhile now, when I heard the doorbell ring. I tried to calm down and not freak out. When I opened the door there he was. Standing there, starring into a trance. "Xavier.....Xavier..."
She looked absolutely stunning, and I was the only one who realized that. She was calling my name, as I came back to reality. "Are you okay? " "Yea, I'm alright. I was just admiring the view." I saw her face flush a light pink. "Are you ready to go?" "Sure,"
I turned around and locked the door. I reached for the handle of the Jeep, but he opened the door for me instead. I tried to hide my smile.
My heart was thumping in my chest and my hands were starting to sweat. I'm usually not this nervous, it might be because of her and it finally feels right.
I really need to calm down, this is just a small outing..with two people...alone. I wonder where we're going, we just passed the city limit. "Um, Xavier where are we going?" "Just to the next town over, if that's alright with you?"
"Yea, it's fine. I don't want to run into anybody from school either." I looked over and smiled at her. When we reached the next town, I parked outside the park and went around to open her door.
When I stepped out of the Jeep, there weren't any eyes on us, or people whispering. It was just peaceful. There weren't alot of people in the park, a few older couples and some toddlers running around the playground.
While she starred at the people around the park, I reached in my trunk and grabbed the lunch I made and a blanket.
I turned around to see Xavier smiling and holding a blanket and a lunch box. I'll stop being in denial, this was a date.
"Shall we?" I held out my hand for to take, she smiled and said "I'd love to." We sat under a big tree that had a great view of the lake.
It finally felt right, all the other guys I went out with either took me to comic book stores or the diner. Those places are nice, but they just didn't compare to how I felt with Xavier. The simple things were what mattered.
I unpacked the lunch which were sandwiches, crackers and some brownies my mom made. Hopefully, she likes the food, I'm not much of a cook but I tried.
I was about to ask Xavier who made the food, when thunder rumbled above us. Tiny droplets of rain started to land on us and smear my glasses. He looked at me and smiled, "C'mon, we can eat in the jeep."
