(A.N it's a girl's pov then boy's pov.)

I saw his eyes wander around the room hoping he would search for mine, but they never did. I would sit in that class room and count the minutes I spent thinking about him.

Why didn't I talk to her? She was in all my classes and all I ever asked her was; what's the homework or could i borrow a pencil? Why not asking her how her day was? Or compliment how beautiful she looked everyday. I know we wouldn't fit together but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want us together.

Then it happened, the most unrealistic thing in the world. We were paired up as partners for an English assignment. The assignment was to get to know one another and write about them.

I walked over to his desk and sat in the seat next to him. He was scrolling through his phone not even noticing I was there. I set my bookbag down on the floor and his eyes met mine. "What's your name again?" "It's Maya." I lowly replied, "Well I'm Xavier . How about you write down whatever there is to know about you and I'll do the same. Okay?" "Ok."

Why was I being such an ass to her? All she ever was to me was sweet and kind. At least I get to see her tomorrow and learn about her quiet but intriguing personality. The bell rang, taking me out of my trance.

I rushed out the class room and someone brushed past me knocking my books and my glasses out of my hands. I sat on the floor and felt around trying to find my glasses.

"Did you lose something? " His smooth voice rang in my ears as I looked at his blurry figure bending down next to me.

I held out her glasses to her as she squinted at me. This flustered shy girl that was sweet to everyone but no one returned the kindness. I waited, but she didn't reach for the glasses. I pushed them onto her face and stacked her books.

"Hey Xavier, what are you doing with this loser?" "She's not a loser so just shut up." "Bruh, chill I'm just kidding. But seriously what are you doing with her?" "I was helping her, what else would I do?" He sighed "I'll see you at practice."

Why would he stick up for me out of all people? Chris was right I was just a loser. No body would want to talk to me anyway. But out of all people Xavier did. Even if it was only for a lousy project. I was still stunned when he put my glasses on my face. He was probably just being nice.

I picked up her books and placed half of them in her arms. I carried the rest. "You don't have to do that. " "It's fine,we're going to the same place anyway. I'm sorry about what Chris said." "It's okay, I've gotten used to it." I looked at her worried, she shouldn't be picked on because she's smart and crazy beautiful.

I saw his eyes immediately change when I said I was used to it. He looked troubled about it. Why would it bother him anyway? He's the quarterback of the football team and I'm just a loser,a nerd a nobody. Girls would kill me even if I tried to talk to him.

Why didn't she see what I saw? I've liked her for so long and I wouldn't be able to stand it if anyone else loved her. "Why are you two late?" "I'm sorry Mr.s Mitchell, she dropped her books." "Don't let it happen again." "Yes ma'am. "

I walked over to my seat and sat down and felt my still warm cheeks. I can't believe this is happening it feels so unreal. Someone tapped my shoulder I turned around and was passed a sheet of paper.

'Are you alright? ' I scribbled on the piece of paper. 'Yea I'm fine' she wrote back. Throughout the class period we passed notes back and forth. When the bell rang for lunch everyone rushed to the door.

While everyone else rushed out the class room I put my books away. "I can walk you. If you want." "It's fine I can go by myself." "Okay, see you later. " He left the classroom, I slung my bookbag over my shoulder and headed down the hall.

I ran into Jacob in the hall. "Hey what's up." "Hey, " "What's wrong?" "Nothing just this girl." "Is she hot?" "Crazy hot." "What's her name?" "Maya." "Maya?" "Yea, what's wrong with her?" "I mean she's pretty, if you're into nerds." "She's not a nerd." "She might not be one, but she's got that whole ugly betty thing going on." "Screw you. " "I'm just saying. " I marched into the cafeteria searching for her.

I skipped the crowded lunch room as usual. I made my way to the best place on earth, the library. I waved to the frail old librarian putting books away. I found an empty aisle and took snacks out from my bookbag and grabbed a book.

Unknown POV

I marched into the library, looking for the stupid geek girl or whatever her name was. I finally found her sitting in an asile reading a dumb book. I smacked the book out of her hands letting it fall against the shelf. "Listen you freak, stay away from Xavier he doesn't want you, he never will. Go find yourself a star wars nerd or something and stay out of his life. He doesn't need some desperate nerd following him around got it?" She slowly nodded as tears filled her eyes. What a loser, he should thank me I did him a favour.

I figured I should probably check the library, she did love to read after all. But when I got there I couldn't find her. I asked the librarian and she said she left in tears. But why was she..... Chris. I stormed into the cafeteria and slammed Chris against the wall. "What did you do to her?" "What the hell are you talking about?" "She left the library in tears, you know why!" "Why don't you ask your bitchy girlfriend Monica."
