Carmen's informative and awake state seemed to have vanished along with the ACME agents.
After clarifying that VILE held their base of command in a castle within Scotland, the law enforcement agency had gotten to work immediately.
Shadowsan knew without a shadow of a doubt, that there would be ACME agents swarming the area within a few hours.
Also taking into account, Carmen's now slumped and exhausted form, the samurai decided that they had better abandon the crime scene.
Looking down at the vulnerable girl, half asleep by his side, Shadowsan was reminded of just how young she really was.
Her make-shift birthday had been just a few weeks ago, which made her 22.
When the two began walking away from the museum without a plan, it soon became clear how much pain the Argentinian was really in.
To prevent her from collapsing, or even stumbling more than she already was, Shadowsan had his right arm carefully snaked around her waist. Whilst his left arm held the hand closest to him in a way of support.
The fight may have worn the samurai out, as will he have a few bruises in the future, however, compared to what Carmen was currently enduring... it was the equivalent of collating a minor paper cut to a gunshot wound.
She continued to sway uneasily, the simple and mundane task of walking, seemed near impossible for her.
Carmen's face was pale and lifeless, it's one emotion being regret.
The occasional moans of pain she failed to bite back only made Shadowsan think of how she deserved a much better life than this.
If only he had connected the dots between Scotland and Roundabout's connections earlier. After all, both places reside in the U.K. Maybe then Carmen would be living a more peaceful life.
It's all he ever wanted for her... all her father ever wanted for her.
Before the Japanese man could confer with Player, regarding the mission, something in his mind clicked.
The two's walking pace came to a halt.
"Carmen." He began steadily, waiting patiently for the tortured women to show any signs of hearing him.
The Argentinian's head turned to face him, another groan coming from her as a result... Blue-grey eyes filled with tears and agony met with his.
She looked so... fragile.
She looked as if the slightest wrong move could cause her to shatter like glass... if she hadn't already done so.
Her pale skin and red sore eyes broke the man's heart. The deep bags under her eyes implied she had been disregarding sleep and possibly meal times. He had seen it before in her... but never this bad. Her signature long Auburn hair was tangled and untreated, it definitely wasn't unexpected, taking into account the night's events... and Carmen's laboured and shaky breathes had hardly evened out, despite how long it had been.
But it still made her look so... different, compared to what he had been used to. As if the light inside her had completely faded.
Were they too late to mentally save her..?
Underneath the loose and tangled strands of Auburn hair, he found what he had been looking for.
The green and glistening earrings she wore stood out compared to her trademark trench-coat.
They looked so... wrong, and out of place.
Inspecting them carefully, Shadowsan gently unclasped the earrings from where they sat, much to Carmen's immediate confusion.
