y/n's pov

I sat on my bed, my copy of The Perks of Being a Wallflower sat closely beside me as I scrolled through playlists to find one that would fit my mood. I didn't need to go to some dumb party anyway. I had my own company, and I guess that's enough.

"Well, if this isn't the most depressing thing I've seen like... ever, I don't know what is." Oliver said from my doorway. He wasn't wearing his usual hoodie. Instead, Oliver wore a t-shirt with a jacket over it and some jeans.

"Piss off."

"Wow, okay then. I was gonna say you could leave your little hobbit hole and come to Ricky Berry's party with me, but now..."

"Why would I want to go to some dumb party anyway?" I muttered.

"Well, I know Dina's going--"

"Yeah, with Syd." I cut him off.

"And I'm pretty sure Stan's gonna be there."

"Great..." I said sarcastically with a frown.

"Wow, okay." Oliver walked further into my room and sat on my bed. "What's up with you? Did Stan do something?"

"Yeah, he did Syd."

"Go Stan." I gave Oliver an unamused look. "Okay, okay, sorry."

"Mhm."

"So... your best friend had sex with the dude you like?"

"Yep."

"Okay, but, dude, you're literally crying over a stoner."

"I'm not even crying, asshole."

"Yeah, but if you were."

"But, I'm not."

"Whatever, you're coming to the party."

I stood outside Ricky Berry's massive house awkwardly as Oliver locked the car. I could see Dina and Syd not too far away from me, talking and sharing a flask between themselves.

Oliver slung his arm around my shoulder and I immediately shoved it off.

"Welcome to-- Oh, there's Robbie! I'm gonna go. Have fun." Oliver jogged off to find his friend, almost crashing into Dina and Syd, who were about to walk into the house.

Dina turned her head and grinned when she saw me.

"Y/N!" She waved me over, so I walked up to them, my hands shoved into the pockets of my jeans.

"Hey guys." I smiled a little, only looking at Dina.

"We thought you weren't coming?"

"I wasn't going to... Ollie kinda made me."

"The dumbass almost ran into us just before." Syd spoke and my eyes flickered over to her for a split second.

"Yeah, I saw. The idiot probably didn't even realize."

"Anyway, shall we?" Dina gestured to the front door.

I nodded and the three of us made our way inside and upstairs. Music blared as semi-drunk teenagers stumbled around in their attempts to dance.

"Dina!" Our heads all shot up to see Ricky Berry, the birthday boy himself. "Welcome to the madness!"
