the sea waves that crashed into the side of the wooden ship would always leave the air a bit salty if you were to lean on the ends of the boat.

it had already been hours after you had left Ritou, and the swaying of the wood on top of salty waters made you queasy.

you had never set foot so far from home-- you never strayed so far from Inazuma City in general, unless it were comissions to the other islands of Inazuma. even then, you'd only be staying there for a few days at most. but, for this mission, the time frame was uncertain. for whom would know how long it'd take until you got a hold of what you needed?

well, even if it took an eternity, you'd return back to Inazuma with your objective fulfilled and brought back where it belonged to; back home. you wished to see your family back in the city; to see them welcome you back home with open arms and smiling faces.

you let out a small sigh. you should really try to get this job done quickly.

sitting under the pavilion of the Alcor, you wondered, in a daze of wariness, if you were wandering down the correct path. you had no other choice but to trust your decision, since the only thing that was ordered of you was to capture and detain the last descendant of the Kaedehara clan. even if you were weary of the thought of somehow not being in control of anything while being around him, you simply had to suck it up and take a step forward. it was the logical thing to do.

the moon was high in the sky, and the hands on the deck had lessened. the quiet ambiance of the ship had made it easier to think about future events. later, when you made it to Liyue, you'd probably follow him around-- or just stay with Beidou, since she and him were acquainted anyhow. in the moonlight surrounded by darkness, your mind wandered.

you were helpless in this situation-- you felt helpless. how were you supposed to understand how to do something without a basis of how to do it? starting from scratch was fine, but starting with no plan in mind was a whole other subject. your mind raced with endless thoughts, endless thoughts raced your mind.

but -

"On The Ocean Waves,"

as if calming your senses, a soft voice stuttered its way into your ears.

the salty waters beneath you seemed to sing alone with him, as they crashed on to the side of the ship in a harmonius rythm to his voice,

"I Yearn For What I Have Lost,"

the sense of bitter melancholy in his voice brung the thundering waves to a somber hush, to where only he had shone on the moonlit deck; under the night sky,

"I Shall Carry On."

he was only mumbling to himself. Kazuha wasn't aware anyone was listening while he focused on finishing the haiku he had started earlier in the day-- before he was attacked. but when he heard your breathing quietly change pace, as if something had pierced your heart, his head had turned in your direction to see what the commotion was about.
