Milly POV
I was now 14 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me I could finally find out the genders of all 3 of my babies. It's usually 12 weeks but we couldn't see all three genders. For the appointment I'm bringing my best friend Erin and her husband Jon Bernthal to get the genders for me because I want to have a gender reveal. Ben can't come because he has to film some scenes for Shadow and Bone.
On the way to the doctors office I got a call from Ben
"Hey babe, you at the doctors office yet?"
"Not yet love we are on our way, you still okay with having a gender reveal?"
"I'm fine with it if you are."
"I got to go love we are pulling in, I will call
you after. Love you."
"Love you too babe." I hung up.
We were pulling into the parking lot of the doctors office and I was starting to get nervous. I also still felt bad for Jon because he was forced here. But to be fair after we promised to take him to Academy (which for people who don't know what that is it's a place with sports and outdoor equipment) so he was fine.
We walked in the doctors and got checked in. The waiting room was surprisingly empty.
"So who is taking care of the kids?" Erin and Jon have 3 kids, Henry, Billy, and Addy.
"We got my mom to take care of them, they wanted time with their grandkids." I was surprised Jon spoke, he hasn't really said anything this whole time.
"We finally got some peace, this is the quietest it has been in a long time. It gets easier as they get older though." Erin saying that made me think. If they say 3 kids at different ages are difficult, then 3 kids at the same age is going to be way more difficult.
"I'm glad I'm trusted with the gender reveal though, it's not everyday your best friend is having triplets." We both laughed, I remembered when me and Ben first got married, I had promised her she could do the gender reveal for our first child. Now she is doing it for three.
"I hope one of them are girls. I see you as a girl mom." To be honest I agree with Erin, I want a girl.
"I just hope you have at least one boy, I can teach it boxing, baseball, basketball-"
Erin interrupted him, "Jon sweetheart what if Ben wants to teach him that? And what if they don't have a boy?"
"I can still help Ben, I mean it's not every day your wife's best friend is having triplets."
Just then we were interrupted, "Mrs. Barnes the doctor is ready to see you."
Erin shot up from her seat, she was definitely excited. Me on the other hand, I was nervous.
"You coming Jon?" Erin asked.
"I'll say out here love, just make sure to tell me if she's having at least one boy." Poor Jon wants a boy.
We walked in, got the babies check out to see if they are okay (they're just fine) then it was the time I was waiting for.
"Would you like to keep the genders a surprise or know them now?"
"Can you write them down and give them to my friend Erin please?" I look over at Erin, who had a big smile on her face.
"Yes ma'am I can." I looked away from the screen just in case, and I heard the doctor write down the genders on a sheet of paper.
"Here you go ma'am." I look over at Erin who is smiling from ear to ear. Yep, definitely a girl for sure.
We left the doctors office and Jon was begging Erin to tell if I was having a boy. Luckily she held strong and didn't tell him. He pouted until we got to Academy then he was fine. Did he buy gender neutral baby jersey's.... Yep. But it's fine because he payed for it.
We went to lunch at Olive Garden and Erin asked me for some rules for the reveal.
"I don't want a cake for the reveal since that's basic, and nothing too messy."
"So like no confetti?"
"That's probably the messiest I can go." To be honest I don't really want to clean up confetti, but it's fine.
"Off topic but if one is a boy you should name it after me, their favorite uncle."
Erin rolled her eyes at him. "Babe they can name it whatever they want, it's their babies."
"I'll think about it Jon, I already have some names picked out, but we need middle names still." Saying that definitely brought up his mood.
"Hell yea!" He was grinning, I guess "Jon" as a middle name is officially on the table. I don't hate the name, but I don't know if Ben likes it.
We finished eating, me and Erin mostly talked about drama, Jon just listened and gave his opinion at times.
After we ate Erin begged to go to one last stop, Barnes and Nobles because she wanted to look for books for the babies. And honestly I wanted to look for my own books too.
I looked for 10 minutes and found a couple of books, Jon came along because he couldn't find Erin. He said she disappeared to look at baby books.
I bought some books, poor Jon volunteered to carry them and as a result had to carry 10 books until I checked out.
We waited at the cafe until Erin came back with a Barnes and Noble bag.
"Can I see the books you picked?" I said that knowing she won't show me.
"I would buttttt they give away the babies genders." Of course they do.
Jon's face lit up, "Can I see the books then?"
Erin kissed him on the cheek, "Sorry love I can't tell you."
Erin and Jon got a coffee, (I was jealous) then they drove me home. And Jon being a gentleman, helped me carry my books in.
"Thank y'all so much for taking me."
"Any time." I hug both Jon and Erin and go into the house.
