John: Huh?
Moka: You heard me. Have a baby with me.
Students: WHAT?!
Peter: John, what's going on?
John: I don't have the slightest idea.
Moka: I felt it the moment I had a taste. Your blood has a taste I've never felt before and it's oddly similar to ours. You're worthy of our blessings. Make a baby with me~
He said nothing as he grabbed her shoulders and backed her up. She smiled as she expected him to contribute to her request, but he didn't. He turned and bolted down the hallway as fast as he could. He left everyone speechless as Moka chased after him. He was able to avoid her until his classes start. Moka being a vampire is in the night classes. John's safe in his classes. Though their chase did cause quite the ruckus.
He made sure to finish his work from school early and immediately walked home. While walking, he was talking with Peter and told him the real reason why he cut his hand. He also went on the school website and found out the school has posted its own news article. He was getting quite the attention now.
He ignored it as he continued to walk home while listening to music. When he got home, he set his things down in his bedroom as he grabbed his guitar and headed to his living room.
He slowly tuned it to ease his ears. He started playing slowly with steady melodies and slowly got faster. He enjoyed playing but didn't sing. He loved the sound guitars make. Playing tunes of country songs made him really relaxed.
???: Mr.Davis.
He stops playing he looks to his right and saw one of his security guards enter the room.
Guard: I hate to disturb you, but you have visitors that want to see you.
John: Did they say who they were.
Guard: They're the Akashia family.
John: *sigh* Show them in and bring them here. I'll join them in a minute.
Guard: Of course.
He leaves as John facepalms. He grunts as he gets up and takes his guitar back into his room and puts it back in the case. He opened the mini-fridge by his bed and took out a bottle of water. He also heard footsteps walk through his house.
Guard: He will be with you shortly. Please wait here.
???: Of course.
He could hear them talking from his room. This voice sounded like a guy. He thought it was going to be Moka. He took one more sip of water before walking to the living room. As soon as he enters, he takes back about what he thought before. Moka was here and she was sitting on his couch next to a man who also had white hair. Her father. Issa Akashia
He entered as the guards stood by the doors.
John: I'm sorry for the wait. I wanted to relax for a bit longer.
Issa: It's no problem. Patience is one of my virtues.
John: As is mine. I'm assuming you didn't come here to talk virtues.
Issa: Straight to the point. You're right. There's been a matter that's been brought to my attention. One that includes the consumption of blood.
John says nothing as he looks at Moka who was smiling while resting her head on her hand on one of the couch arms.
Issa: I was informed that my daughter consumed a few drops of your blood. But it's what she told me right after.
John: That being?
Issa: You see, we vampires need to have compatible blood in order to live and join as one. If the blood isn't compatible, we die off.
John: I don't see how this concerns me.
Issa: Ah, but it does, my dear boy. She's tasted your blood. She's had many tastes of blood from different monsters, but none are as compatible as yours. So, I came here with an offer.
He reaches inside of his coat and pulls out a piece of folded paper. He sets it on the table and slides it over to John. he sets his cup of water down as he grabs the letter and opens it. He only read part of it, but it was enough to make his eyes go wide.
John: Marriage registration?!
Issa: My daughter has consumed your blood and is the most compatible. Therefore, I'm offering you the chance to take my daughter's hand in marriage.
John: I'm 17. I haven't even finished high school yet! Besides, she didn't drink my blood from me directly. It was an accident.
Issa: How so?
He unravels the bandage around his palm and shows Issa the gash on his palm.
John: What happened was an accident. I was getting something from my locker, my jacket got stuck, and I got it free. I ended up cutting my hand in the process. Drops of blood sprayed on my locker door and well, you know the rest.
Issa: She failed to mention that. But even still, your blood is compatible. Just think about it. If you marry into this family, you could have all the power you could ever ask for. No one would respect you. You could live for hundreds of years. have all the wealth you want.
John: ...
Issa: I take it you need time to think it over.
John: Can I ask you a question?
Issa: Of course.
John: How stupid do you think I am? I won't become a vampire because she feels like I'm compatible.
Issa: Then what about your human side? Humans don't live for that long 80-100 years on average. That's too short.
John: It's true that the life span of a human is short, but that's all the reason to make the time in my life more precious. I was born a human and I will die as a human. And besides, I have no interest in wealth. The government supplies me with the essentials and protection I need.
Issa: And what about power?
John: I don't want power. I'm into the world of music and athleticism. I won't give that up for any amount of riches or strength. You can take this marriage registration and put it where the sun don't shine. Shakespeare.
He slides it back to Issa who simply refolds it and puts it back into his jacket.
Issa: If that is your answer then I believe our business is done here. We'll show ourselves out. They get up and head towards the door.
Issa: I should make one more thing clear.
John: And what might that be?
Issa: I've arranged for my daughter to be moved to classes in the day instead of during the night. You don't have a problem with that, do you?
John: As long as I can focus and keep up with work, I could care less if she's in the day class or any of my classes.
Issa: At least we've come to an agreement. Good day, John Davis
He opens the door and the two are escorted by the guards into their car. The engine starts and they drive off and the guards go back to doing their regular patrols.
John: Marriage registration, huh?
He says as he looks at the gash on his palm. He slowly wraps it back up with bandages.
John: This could be bad. But, since I am the last human on earth, I think this will be rather interesting to see how it plays out.
