"Hey," I greet Mac who walks into my room. "You good?" I organize my pillows on my bed while taking a couple glances back at him.

He sighs, plopping down into the chair at my desk. "Cameron left me for the shower," he says, squeezing the little, orange ball he almost always has on him above his head as he stares up at it.

I snicker, moving around to the other side of the bed. "Surprised you didn't join her." I start to fix the few pillows on the side I'm on now with a small grin on my face.

"You don't think it's too soon?" He props his feet up on the desk. "I don't wanna' intrude on her like that; it's only been a couple months." His eyes wander in my direction, watching me finish making my bed.

"Cameron won't mind. I know her — and she doesn't care." I take my phone in my hand and climb onto the neat mattress. "Just don't be too loud. Quiet time is when she's in the shower."

Mackai chuckles, turning his head completely in my direction. "You're terrible."

I lean back on my hands, nodding with a smile on my lips. "So you came to see me 'cause you're bored?"

"What else would I come in here for? To hang out with you?" I cocks a brow before dramatically scoffing and whistling, rolling his eyes. "No ma'am. Don't let me boost your ego."

"Okay, tough guy," I laugh.

He drops his legs back to the ground, maneuvering his entire body to face me. "I do have a question for you, though."

I tilt my head slightly, intrigued. "Shoot."

"You into him?"

Bland question.

"Elaborate," I say, furrowing my brows in confusion.

"Brooks — you into him?"

I don't know why it takes so long for it to process in my head what he's saying. I blink a couple times before my eyes widen and I finally take in what he's asking.

"Oh! Oh, hell." I snort under my breath. "Uh, no. I most definitely do not. Why do you ask?" I question.

He shakes his head, hiding a grin through a frown. "Honest?"

"Very."

"Okay."

Now I'm interested. "No, you want me to get with him, too, don't you? What is with you people?"

"I don't know why you would think such a thing," he says through a smile. "Honestly, I just think you guys would be good together."

I dramatically scoff, shaking my head and grinning. "That is far from the truth!"

"You were on top of him when I came in here this morning."

My mouth moves to say something snarky, but nothing except a small groan. "I had a nightmare again."

"Same one?"

"Same exact one," I mumble. "But it was just that once. Meant nothing, never to happen again."

Mackai hums, nodding. "My opinion still stands."

"You were supposed to be on my side. You let her corrupt you." I shake my head in disapproval.

"No, I do not have a girlfriend, mother," my brother murmurs, sitting down next to me on the couch. "And I said the same thing when you asked me that last week."
