Y/n's pov

I walked over towards my Mother who was sitting out in the balcony staring out at the city. I took my place beside her. She glanced down at me, a smile grew on her face then she looked back at the landscape.

"Mom why are you always up so early", I asked leaning against my mom as I stared out into the landscape. "To see the sun rise", she answered. "But it's just the sun, you see it everyday", I stated. "Yes, but I love seeing the sun rise up, it means the world is waking up", she answered. "The trees, the bees, the cuties", she began naming then pinched my cheek when she said cuties causing me to cringe a bit, but failing to fight the smile off my face.

"You get to breathe the first breath of air of a new day before anyone else ", she explained. "I doubt it'll smell any differently", I replied. "True, but also I get to experience all the new beginnings", she said. "New beginnings", I questioned. "When the sun rises out from the ground it's the start of a new day, a new day for people who decided to change their ways", she explained. "What about the people who don't", I asked. "Then hopefully the next sunrise they do, the sun will wait for them and rise again when they do", she explained.

I looked down to look back forward seeing the sun emerging from the ground; like a general showing their bravery, strength and hope that everyone so desperately needs sometimes. My mother closed her eyes letting the sunlight cover us, our skin glowing like a lantern itself. She grabbed my hand holding it into hers. She opened her eyes to watch the sunrise along with me.

"Dear", a voice said from behind us. We looked back seeing a bunch of enforcers; one of them had handcuffs in their hand. I gave them a confused look. My mother squeezed my hand causing me to look back at her. Her smile glowing like the sun itself even with the tragic fate she will be facing.

"I'll see you soon , vita mea ", she said then stood up letting go of my hand. I sat there watching her as she approached the enforcers and soon left with them. "Come on time to get dress", my father said then coughed soon after. He using his cane to walk away. I looked back at the run rise one last time then stood up to get dress.

"The council has made a decision...to strip Theia of her place amongst us and to exile Theia L/n to the undercity for the remaining of her life", Shoola, one of Piltover's council member spoke. "All in favor", she questioned then raised her hand; signaling the light above her to turn on and shine on her. I watched in horror as all the council members, excepted Hermerdinger voted to exile my mother. The lights shining down on them like a beacon. "The council has decided, if you ever step foot back into Piltover you will face dire consequences do you understand", Shoola asked. My mother just nodded her head.

"Escort her there", Salo ordered. Two enforcers approached my mom and began escorting out of the room. The tears filled my eyes, not sure if they should pour out or dry up. They decided to pour when I made eye contact with my mother. She shoved out of the enforcers' way rushing towards me and my father. She fell to her knees in front of me and grabbed my face. The tears began spilling out of my eyes wetting her hands.

"Don;t ever stray from the light Vita Mea", she said, her voice cracking as the tears began flowing out of her eyes as well. "Please don't go", I begged grabbing her hands. "I have to, I'll come back to you always", she whimpered. She pulled me forward about to place my forehead onto hers, but the enforcers grabbed her before she could.

"LET HER GO", I cried out rushing forward, but my father grabbed me. I shoved him back, he was a sickly man so I was able to; knocking him back onto the ground. A person beside him grabbed me instead by my waist and lift me up.

"NO PLEASE LET ME GO MOM MOM", I screamed, spit flying out of my mouth. I flailed around in the man's arms trying to break free. My mother was fighting to get to me too. The enforcers had to grab her and lift her up to drag her out of the room.

"Let me say goodbye please I beg of you", she begged to the enforcers, her pleas not reaching them. I reached my hand out hoping some kind of nature granted me some kind of power to pull her back towards me, but I was just a normal person. The doors slowly closed gradually making the light disappear from the room. The door finally closed on her and engulfed the room into darkness, but you could still see everyone. I went limp into the man's arms. Once he knew it was safe to let me go he placed me back onto the ground. I fell immediately now sitting on the ground. I leaned over to the point I was kissing the ground, my tears making small ponds on it. My father crawled over towards me and pulled me up. We sat there holding each other, our cries filling the room like sad music.

My mother wasn't able to fill her promise of seeing us again. She was killed two weeks later in the undercity.
