A/N: This was from a request I got on my tumblr (@a-dam-pjo-blog). The request was to write a oneshot set directly after the underwater kiss in The Last Olympian.

They surfaced

They surfaced.

Annabeth was still in shock, mostly from being thrown into the lake. But she had kissed Percy, twice. Percy, who she had wanted to be with, to go out with, to love, ever since that first kiss at Mount St Helen's. She had always found him cute but it was after that day that she wanted things to be serious. What does this even mean? What does it mean for them, their relationship?

Percy couldn't believe his luck. He had just kissed the girl of his dreams, twice, just like that. How had he managed to score someone like her. All the stress, all the anger, all the pain from the battle had dissipated. He only felt joy, bliss. What will this lead to? His mother would say to ask her out on a date, take her somewhere nice. But, he couldn't really do that right now, you know, in a lake.

Oh right! They're in a lake. Percy figured he should do something about that. He controlled the waiter and brought Annabeth and himself drifting carefully to the shore. He reached out a hand and helped her onto the bank, which was on the far side from the docks by a dusty path leading through some trees. They were completely alone, finally.

He couldn't think of anything to say, so he just smiled at her, unsure of how else to express his feelings. Annabeth smiled back and simply started with "Well..."

"Hm, yeah." He responded nodding.

"That was, uh, nice." Annabeth realised afterwards how stupid that probably sounded. Nice? She wasn't sure how to describe it but that wasn't it. It was much more than that.

"Yeah. Yeah it was pretty good. You know? Like, it was very good even. But what's important is that your happy, which you are right?"

Annabeth couldn't help but laugh at how much of a dork he was being. An adorable dork at that, which is how he gets away with it.

"Can I take that as a yes?" He enquired, hopefully.

"Yes. Absolutely." She added, between laughs.

He ran his fingers through his wet hair and shook it, creating volume in his fluffy, black waves and looking unbelievable hot at the same time.

He looked at himself before glancing up at Annabeth, meeting her eyes. "We should dry off."

"Yeah, I suppose you could say we're a little bit damp." She said, her eyes wandering over her soaking wet curls and dripping t-shirt, that had wrinkled and stuck to her skin.

The pair wandered along the dusty path, laughing and joking all the way, until they found their way to Cabin 3, Percy's. They stood outside of the door for a while, just looking at each other, before Annabeth broke the silence. "Well, I don't really want to leave..."

"I don't really, and if you don't want to either..."

"I mean, I suppose we could just..."

They went back and forth for a while before deciding Annabeth might as well just join Percy in his cabin because why not. Percy lent her one of his t-shirts, a hoodie and pair of sweatpants. When she put them on, they were obviously way too big, but Percy could barely contain himself at how adorable she looked. She was right there, in his clothes. Nothing official yet, but after today theres an unspoken agreement that that's his girl.

His girl.

The evening went on, they survived humiliation at dinner by instead breaking into Percy's snack supply. They just talked and laughed and ate. It was like a breath of fresh air after being stuck in a dingy, dark, cupboard for months on end. They talked, and by the end of the evening there was an agreement. An agreement on what their relationship is.

Percy walked across camp, her hand in his, and guided her to her cabin for the night. They stopped outside the door and he took her other hand as well. "I must be the luckiest man in existence."

"And why would that be?"

"Well, I managed to get the best girlfriend."

And they kissed, the kissed for what seemed like forever, but at the same time felt way to short, as the pulled away and said their goodbyes.

They both slept well that night. Happy, and feeling luckier than anyone else could ever be.
