╚══════════════╝Xavier POV:
"Sir, here's the papers you wanted printed out." My assistant, Lena, said while putting the folder down.
I just nodded at her and picked up the folder. My assistant then walked away and outside of my office.
I asked Lena to print out the contract I needed for tonight. I checked over it one more time and then I decided to pack up and leave. It was currently 6:25pm. I walked to the private elevator and pushed in the code to enter. I went inside and clicked the button.
Heading to my car and went inside, I typed in the directions to Pace Verde restaurant into my navigation. It took 38 minutes to drive there and after I arrived, I went inside and told them I had a reservation.
This place was not my style I would typically go to, but since it's her favorite place to eat, I thought it might be the best place to try to convince her.
I took my seat and told the waitress what I wanted to order. Technically, I ordered her favorite food that she always gets.
I checked my watch, and it was 7:05pm now. I wasn't worried that she won't show up, I know she will.
And at 7:09 she walked into the restaurant, she started to look around the restaurant and she spotted me. Making her way to me, I was looking at what she was wearing, she had on blue jeans shorts with a sweatshirt on. I looked her up and down and I'm not going to lie, she's an attractive woman.
"Okay, I'm here. Now tell me what you want from me," Rosalina said to me. I just looked at her, the fact that she thinks she can command me.
"Sit."
She shook her head and sat down across from me.
"Xavier can we please just-" She was going to say but then got interrupted by the waitress bringing her food and setting it down.
When she saw the food in front her, she had a surprised impression.
She then looked up at me and back at her food.
"How do you know what I order here?" She asked.
"I need to ask you something." I said to her with an serious expression.
She didn't respond she just stared at me and back at her food.
I decided to just tell what, "Look, I have some business issues from my family and I need your help to be able to resolve that issue." I said to her.
Then out of the blues she started eating like a mad woman out of a cave.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
She continued eating but then stopped and swallowed the mouthful of food.
"Oh, I'm just trying to get all this good food finished before you say anything." She said to me.
"What I'm saying is important. Aren't you curious?" I said to her.
"Well, considering it's you, then it's probably bad. So." Then she continued to eat.
"I need you to become my wife." I said.
I thought she was going to react in like a big way and stop eating, basically like those cliche movies or books whenever a guy says that, but no. She just stopped and like it was nothing, continued eating.
"Reason why, is because my grandfather will only pass down the business completely to me if I'm settled down."
She was almost down with her food when she looked up and took a huge sip from her drink.
"And for you, I have a doctor that is in France that can help with your grandmother's condition."
And that's when she stopped eating. She just froze there with a fork in her hand and looking down at her food.
She looked up and said, "How do you know about my grandma's condition?"
"The same way I know what you like to order from here." I said.
She had a puzzled look on her face.
"I have a file on you." I said to her.
"So what, you know everything about me?" She said angrily.
"Not everything, just the basics, it's not like I know your favorite color. I just keep tabs on you lately."
"Your a bastard." She said and shakes her head.
"I had to know what kind of woman I would be getting involve what."
She then leaned over the table and said, "And what makes you think I would agree on this."
She then stood up and before she was about to leave I said something that I knew would make her agree to this marriage.
"Your grandma isn't going to leave much longer, and I can guarantee you that she will live longer if you agree." I said to her.
She then stopped at her spot and stood there for awhile.
I knew she wasn't a selfish person and that her grandma is the only love one she has left.
She then turned around and sat back down.
"Where's the papers?" She asked.
"Good." I said and then got the file out from my jacket and handed it to her.
"Read through it and then sign it."
She then took the file in her hand and then we both stood up.
"Wait, whoever you have stalking on me as what you call keeping tabs on me, call them to stop." She demanded.
I looked into her eyes and then pulled out my phone from my pocket and dial the number.
"Your assignment is over." I said and then hung up.
"You have one day to return that file, the address is on the paper. It's my company address."
After that she walked away.
After paying for the dinner I left the restaurant and headed home.
"Jaxon." I said as I walked into my door seeing him in front of my fireplace.
"Did she agree?" Jaxon asked.
Jaxon and I were friends ever since we were young. He's the only guy I trust the most. He's always been my side. Also, only person that knows about this arrangement.
"She has the contract." I said to him and loosened my tie and went to the bar to pour me a drink.
"So, what happens after you guys get married." He spoke.
"Then I got the business, and her grandmother is healthy. Plus she has a lot of benefits, she'll be living freely because of my money even after we divorce."
"What if you fall in love with her." Jaxon asked and turned around.
"The contract says none of us can develop feelings, just strictly business. And plus this is only for 2 years." I explained to him
"That didn't answer my question, Xavier."
"I won't. I never did before so what will change now?" I said clearly.
