It was 4:59 and I had just arrived at the restaurant. I waited for about 2 more minutes when I saw Nick walk in. I waved over to him and he came over to the table. I got up to greet him. "Hey Nick," I said, giving him a quick hug... "Hey Y/n, I'm so sorry that I was late". "Don't worry about it, it's ok, plus it was only 2 minutes," I said, pushing his comment away. "Yeah, 2 minutes less with you." I blushed at his words and he pulled out my chair to sit back down. "So, Nick, how was your day?" I asked. "Well it was good, My dad had me help him with some yard work, it's manual labor, and then I just got ready and came to see you. How was your day?" I diverted my eyes from his and looked down. "Well I could say that it was pretty good up until about 5 minutes before I left." He looked at me with worry. "Why is that?" he asked. "Well, my family is not really normal, and they are very protective over me, and so when I told them I was going on a date, they sort of freaked out and I realized that they don't trust me. I mean I get it, but they should at least trust me to make the right decisions". He looked at me with genuine eyes and grabbed both of my hands in his. "Well Y/n, I think that they just care for you so much that they can't bear to see you get hurt." Nick was right, the Avengers did care about me. A lot. But I am almost 18, and they have to start treating me like a trusting adult, or I am never going to be able to grow up. "Thank you" I replied to him. We stayed like that for a few long seconds just gazing into each other's eyes until he spoke up. "Plus, I have a surprise for you after dinner". I just smiled as the waiter came to order our food.

The food was amazing, and Nick and I shared a slice of chocolate cake for dessert. He insisted on paying, even though I had tried paying first. He walked me out to his car and opened my door for me. "Thank you," I said. "Anything for you malady" I chuckled as I put my seatbelt on, and waited for Nick to get in the car. He looked at me and held out his hand. In his hand was a strip of black cloth. "What's this?" I asked him. "It's a blindfold, put it on". I hesitantly grabbed the blindfold and put it over my eyes. As I was tying it I thought about Bucky's words. "We don't even know him, Y/n,... Do you even know him?" Did I? I am in a car with a boy putting a blindfold on. Did I know Nick? Yes. Yes, I did. Nick is the guy that I have liked for since I can remember, Nick is the guy that made me feel better about showing my powers. That is who he is. With that thought, all of Bucky's, Steve's, and everyone else's words didn't matter. The blindfold was secure and I was ready to be surprised. We were driving for a while, and Nick was holding my hand the whole time. The car came to a stop and I heard the engine turn off. I heard ruffling in the back, and I heard Nick get out of the car. He came to my side and opened my door as I undid my seatbelt. He got me out of the car, and he stood me still. "Ok Y/n, we are going to walk for a bit, but no peeking. I'll let you know when you can take the blindfold off". "Ok". He grabbed my hand and started to lead me somewhere. By the quietness of the wind, I could tell we were away from the city. From the crunch of the leaves, maybe a forest somewhere. He sat me down on a hard cold surface before ruffling with something. "Ok Y/n, are you ready?" I just nodded in excitement and he untied my blindfold. When I opened my eyes what I saw was magical. It was beautiful and sweet, and so gorgeous. In front of me was a little pond in a big pasture surrounded by trees, trees, and more trees. The big shining moon was out and at this time of night you could see all of the stars. There were ducks and frogs in the pond, as well as birds flying around in the sky. I quickly turned to Nick who was sitting almost behind me. "Nick, I-I mean- This- this is amazing, where did you find this place?" He looked at me and smiled at my enthusiasm. "When I was 15, I got into a fight with my older brother. I was really upset and I needed to getaway. I ran out to the train station and got off at a random stop. I walked and walked until I stopped here. I figured out where I was, and have been coming here for the past 3 years when I have a rough day at school, or just when I need a break from life. It's my special place, and I wanted to share it with a special girl". I just smiled at him and leaned in towards his lips. He got where I was going and put his fingers under my chin to slightly lift my head. Our lips met, and with that, sparks exploded throughout my whole body. We kept kissing each other more passionately and even made our way down each other's necks a few times before we just stopped and cuddled looking at the stunning view in front of us. We stayed there until 10:30 when we both needed to go home. Nick drove me back to the restaurant to get my car, but before I left we hugged for a few minutes, kissed, and then said our goodbyes. I would see him in a few days at school anyway, so it wasn't going to belong. I got into my car and drove back to the Avengers tower, with a booming smile on my face the whole way back.
