a dream before death

prologue.

*knock knock knock

" come in." a deep tired voice answers the door as both of the giant twin doors open with a creaking noise, "my lord. Barbatos needs to speak to you, do we let him in?" a guard of this so called 'lord' kneeled infront of the enormous entrance, awaiting for an answer

"*ugh..* let him in, and do not disturb us if its not emergency." the lord sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, slowly he closed his book, and raised a pale slender hand as a command, "yes, my lord" the guard stood up gently and bowed

the guard walked out of the room as soft footsteps and gentle pitter patters againts the fluffy rug were heard from the halls making its way into the dim room, then Barbatos's silhouette appeared and made its way inside, followed behind was the twin doors closing behind his white angelic wings.

" what do you need, Barbatos." the 'lord' huffed out his words for being disturbed in his daily reading and writing, eyes shut, and brows furrowed as a sign of clear irritation, the graying ray of sun shining behind the lord with the dimly lit room made it more threatening, but not to Barbatos..

" my~ my~ getting a little cranky are we? not happy to see his dearest friend infront of his face? " Barbatos words echoes through the lord's ears, ' dearest friend ' ? oh please.

" state your business Barbatos, i dont have time for chatting. i still have work to do aswell, so if you do not have any matter here, exclude yourself. following.. what do you so happen to be in need of something to discuss with me, privately. " the lord stood up lightly from his desk, slowly shortening his distance with Barbatos, glaring him down, Barbatos only smiled-giggled and looked around awkwardly, trying to figure out where to start.

" well.. " Barbatos co-oed, the lord moved his attention to Barbatos, raising an eyebrow, " you have known that the archon war has started.. " the lord sided his glance from Barbatos at the mention of the Archon War going on recently.

" And we might even have to slaughter eachother.. " Barbatos whispered out making the lord jolted his head to him, spawning his polearm as it neares Barbatos's neck with a unhuman speed, making Barbatos hold his breath at the sudden motion, " w-woah there! easy Nyx! " Barbatos yelped out " i'm not gonna hurt you, my dear friend! please calm down..! " Barbatos tilts his head upwards, trying to avoid the sharp heaven-piercing spear that was held by the hand of his trusted friend.

" is that what matter you bother me with? or was it the only topic you came up with!? " the lord, aswell known as, Nyx. shouted out with a strong voice, making the standby guards outside the room too scared to interfere.

" i-it's not that! " Barbatos squeaked out, " i-it's about your people.. " Nyx relaxed his weapon in arm at the thought of his loyal people, as soon as that, Nyx got even more suspicious.

" what? are you gonna slaughter them too? " Nyx neared his sharp polearm to Barbatos's throat again, now tugging his soft skin, the tip of the polearm scratching an inch of flesh, causing it to leak out blood.
