Salina's POV
Tonight was the most beautiful and special day for Rida and us as well. She was tying the knot with her childhood love and was entering into a halal relationship. I couldn't be happier than this. She has been my favorite cousin, we had arguments and disliking over a couple of things but that didn't lessen our love for each other
I was consciously looking at the arrangements of Nikaah, and the shimmering lights and basket of beautiful flowers made me feel goosebumps. I started to imagine my wedding day where I would be decked up in a heavy lehenga, and my husband would be sitting in the opposite direction to me
Haye Allah the jitters of signing nikaah papers were already bursting in my heart, I couldn't really wait for that best day of my life when I would get married and embark on a new life with my husband
I was pulled out of my imaginative world when I felt a hand tapping on my shoulder, I twisted my back to look at my best friend's brother, and as always He blessed me with a sweet smile
"Assalam Alaikum, where were you lost?" Izhaan asked me with a curious smile
I smiled faintly, and replied "Walaikum Salaam I was thinking about my wedding day, but you distracted me"
Izhaan looked slightly jovial at my reply, and I don't know why, He flattened his thin lips for a cute smile, and said "Ok so did you see who your husband was? Did you see his charming face or at least a glimpse?"
I glared at him for asking me such a silly question, how would I see his face when I don't even know who will be my husband? I shook my head in disbelief, and answered him with an arrogant smile "No, but it wasn't you for sure"
Izhaan looked disheartened at my comment, and I felt bad for making this poor guy upset. My eyes softened as I told him "Sorry I was just joking with you"
"It's fine, I am used to such humorless jokes of yours" Izhaan replied to me with a cheeky smile, and my jaw touched the ground in amazement
I playfully slapped him on his shoulder, and threatened him with a smirk "Just because I am so happy today doesn't mean you will insult Salina Khan like this, apologize to me right now, otherwise I won't let you eat Gulab Jamun"
Izhaan just laughed in response which enraged me even more, this guy. I tell you, he never takes me seriously until it's about my wedding, Ugh!
He walked away without replying to me, and I stomped my foot on the expensive carpet in rage
I brushed aside my inconsequential thoughts and focused on the pending work. I was tirelessly wandering all around the venue to check on the remaining decorations, and there I spotted a guy, drinking juice with an amusing smile. I halted my steps to gaze at his sharp jawline, and my heartbeats raced when I saw him coming towards me. Ya Allah did he just notice me ogling at him shamelessly? No, no this shouldn't happen. I mentally scolded myself for staring at a stranger hopelessly, and my eyes were closed out of anxiety and embarrassment
"Hey you" His husky voice moderately soothed my restive heart, and slowly I opened my scared eyes
"You are from the bride's family?" He asked me with a gleaming smile
"Yyyyes" I hated myself for stammering in front of his captivating smile, and I was sure he must be laughing at my poor communication skills
"Good to know, I am Faizan's cousin Shahzain, I was feeling pretty bored, I don't have a friendly relationship with any of my cousins except Faizan, so I didn't have any company here to enjoy," The guy with the most enchanting smile told me in a soft voice, and I couldn't think of anything else but his intense eyes penetrating my amber ones
