Fiona had always been a hate watcher of teen dramas. She often found them cringy and ridiculous. But no matter how much she'd dislike the characters or the writing, if it was dramatic enough she'd still keep watching it, even if she'd make fun of it.
Being part of one was not something she expected, but she'd always consider that day to be entrapment more than an amazing opportunity. It was 2016 when she got the call about Riverdale and back then she hadn't really had many auditions going on for her. In fact, since she graduated high school the only film she was in was her short appearance in a movie called "The 5th Wave". Someone on the crew there had helped her set an audition up for this dark mystery show based on comics. So originally it had sounded something Fiona would be interested in. She had nothing else going for her and she loved the idea for the show and her character so yes she signed a six-year contract. When else would she get this opportunity?
Season one went well enough. Fiona was happy to start doing some more serious acting and had even met another Disney star on there as well. In fact, she liked her co-stars, they all knew how to have a good time. Once she read the writing for the second season that's when things started going downhill. For the show at least, she and her castmates became more and more popular through the show. It was certainly an opportunity to get more popular quicker, but Fiona would always contemplate that choice. It helped her get minor yet beloved roles in other movies. The actor who played her character's love interest through the show would become her boyfriend. Who could forget all of the people she would get to meet, the big follower intake she'd receive, and the number of events she'd get invited to.
They'd just finished the sixth season and would start filming the final season in a few months. Fiona was conflicted by the show ending and couldn't decide if she was surprised by CW's choice of canceling it. Her security blanket was gone now, even if it was damp and too small.
Her best friend and roommate, Aria, presented Fiona with 5 Second of Summer's Take My Hand concert tickets. A night to loosen up that she much needed. All she seem to do these days was work with just finishing one movie, a season, and recently getting a call about a big movie. Fiona and Aria had been fans of 5SOS since 2014 and their music seemed to grow up with them. Their music had always been relatable no matter how dark the songs began to sound.
Which leads us to tonight. A late June in LA, occupied by Aria and Fiona's castmate, Lili, who also needed a break from filming. They sit up in box seats on the right side. Calum's side. Something about being put near him satisfied Fiona.
The fog disappears and reveals the four boys standing there causing an even louder scream to come from the crowd.
"Oh my god, look how cute Mikey looks! Crystal's amazing, but sometimes I wished I was married to him instead of being single and 26," Aria sighed loudly.
"Yeah...something tells me you two wouldn't get together either way," Fiona pointed out, making Lili laugh.
Aria didn't get a chance to reply before the boys opened with, No Shame, making Fiona grinned. It was one of her favorites. In a daze of sorts, Fiona began to sing and sway along to song. Her mind going to not only the deep antics of Hollywood, but the whole world of fame.
The whole concert was a blessing itself. Fiona wasn't very religious, but she'd certainly call it a religious experience. She knew very lyric and danced to every song. Except the sad ones. She turned on the flashlight of her phone let herself get cut by each word sung. Connecting with these songs were painful, but so was growing up.
Fiona's heart sank at the show coming to a close, but she saw her phone exploding more than usual. Checking it, her eyes widened at fans blowing up at her being at a 5SOS concert.
