Chapter 23: Finding You
Liam’s P.O.V
The sliding doors opened as I exited the pool. She’s not here. I felt myself hit the wall and slide down till I hit the floor. Running my hands through my hair for the thousandth time today I let out a sigh. I then put my head in my hands trying to think on where she would be. My phone started to ring from my back pocket. It was Harry. Maybe he found her.
“Hello?!?” I answered eagerly.
“Liam, she’s not in the house. I checked every room, twice.” I heard Harry say through the phone.
“Alright Hazza, thanks for looking.”
“Of course, I’ll keep looking.” With that Harry hung up.
It had been about two hours since we started looking for Emma and we still couldn’t find her. I even sent Niall to the grocery store to look for her, but now that I think about it that was probably a really bad idea.
I am currently up at the pool that Emma has been swimming at for the past week or so and am looking around here. So far nothing. I don’t get it. Where in the world could she be? This was the first place I thought of but she’s not here.
The boys are helping me look. They’re all really worried about her and being extremely helpful considering the situation. Right now I have Niall at the store (again, not a good idea on my part), Zayn and Harry are at the house looking around there, Louis driving around to see if she is walking or something, and then me, at the pool.
Please. I thought. Please Emma, where are you?
I sighed once more and picked myself up off the ground and headed towards the door of the swim club. Just as I entered the outside my phone began to ring again. It was Zayn this time. Without letting my hopes get up I answered the phone, my voice sad.
“Yeah? What’s up?”
“Liam” He paused “We found her.”
It took my brain a second to register what he had just said.
“Wh-What?”
“Liam, we found Emma. We found her!”
“Oh my god.” A smile broke onto my face. “oh my god! Zayn! Where? What? When? Is she okay?” I began to fire questions at him as I ran to the car and jumped in.
“Liam- slow down. She’s fine. Just come back and we will sort it out here.”
“Okay, I’m on my way now. I should be there in like a minute.” The car was brought to life as I turned the key and sped out of the parking lot.
“Don’t speed!”
“I don’t care! I’ll be there soon!!!” I yelled back, excited. I hung up the phone and threw it across the car so I could focus on driving. To say I was speeding would be an understatement, I am just really lucky no one is on the roads.
As I pulled up to Emma’s drive way I saw all the boys bouncing with excitement in a little group. I quickly turned off the car and ran towards them.
“Well? Where is she?”
Zayn smiled at me. “Follow me.” He took me by the wrist and led me down the driveway, past Emma’s house and heading towards the lake. Zayn stopped walking causing me to run into him. He simply looked at me and brought his arm up to point to something in the distance. I looked up towards where he was pointing.
“Zayn? Wha-“ But then I saw her. She was there, sitting on the dock with her back facing us. Zayn and I were still a ways up from the hill that led to the dock so I couldn’t see her very clearly. But she was there, and that’s all that matters.
