This is a Daisukenojo "Beat" Bito x Reader from the game The World Ends With You! One shot only and might CONTAIN SPOILERS from NEO: TWEWY.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

A New Day. Living in Shibuya meant your days were always bustling with energy. The city simply gave you the adrenaline to go out there and live your days to their fullest. And so, as usual, you found yourself in the Scramble Crossing, by Hachiko. You weren't exactly waiting to meet up with someone, though if you were to pick someone in your contacts, one "Beat" would come up. Your thoughts go back to three years ago, when he and his sister got into a car accident. The two were down under for several weeks before waking up as if nothing ever happened.

Those three weeks felt like hell. You remember feeling sluggish and lethargic, which was severely unusual for a resident of Shibuya. But if you were honest, those days were hazy and fuzzy in memory. Sometimes you ask yourself if it was all a dream or not. Before that weird period, you've known Beat for a while and how you met was unforgettable.

The young man was a skater, brandishing his skateboard almost anywhere he went. You always assumed it was his comfort item, something that eases him during stressful situations. You were a roller skater in contrast. It made you feel free, like nothing can catch up to you to hold you down. You and Beat went to the same skate park as teens. He bumped into you and caused a huge crash. Thankfully, neither of you were hurt... badly. Beat... had a limp, at most. You got off with a couple of scrapes since he somehow cushioned your fall. Even though the ruffian was the one not watching where he was going (he'd never admit it out loud), you felt the need to make it up to him. That's how you ended up nursing him for the rest of that afternoon and sitting with him to watch other people enjoy their day in the skate park.

Since then, the two of you hung out regularly at the skate park and sometimes even grabbing a bite to eat around Shibuya. You became best friends almost over a weekend, and at times when you couldn't go to the park, Beat would always keep you company through text and calls. He was special to you, though you could never guess if he would reciprocate the feeling. You knew him as straightforward and goal oriented, so you assumed things like liking someone doesn't come into his mind. Ever since that incident three years ago though, you only occasionally text him now. It wasn't that something happened between you two, but he seemed busier than ever since then. But it would brighten your spirit once he texts back. Beat never let you down.

"Woah-!" You shook slightly as your weight shifts while leaning against Hachiko. As luck (or misfortune?) would have it, you bump into a passerby, making them drop their soda right on your shirt.

"Shit-! My b! You good- (_y/n_)!? Is that you, fo' real?" You looked up at the loud voice as you pull the fabric of your shirt away from your torso. Beat, himself, was there right in front of you, summoned by your calls. Though that was all dramatizations. It was a mere coincidence, but a welcome one, nevertheless. You froze as you looked at him up and down while he removed his mask to reveal a large smile, barely recognizing him from his now long hair. A part of you even forgot he was blond. He always had it in his beanie after all. His threads were different now too, a hoodie and headphones adorning his look. He looked as handsome as you remember him, maybe even more.

"Beat!? No way! I haven't seen you in years!" You exclaimed with wide eyes and a matching grin to his own.

"Yeah, no kiddin'! You're looking bomb af as usual, yo! Ah-!" He complimented you, to which you blushed at, before noticing the tragedy that is your shirt. "Man, sorry 'bout dat. I.. Uh..." He began looking around for something that could dry you out and help with the stickiness, even stuffing his hands into his pockets for tissues. You could only giggle at the sight of him panicking a little. Some things never change, you thought.
