That was it. The last straw for him. Seeing you in his office late at night as you fell asleep while doing the research he told you to do. You have been his assistant for quite a while and eventually developed romantic feelings for Miles Edgeworth, also known as the Demon Attorney. Despite his blunt observations that gave him most of the negative reviews on him, he was quite caring for those who work with him. Be it due to their loyalty to him or their use to him, he cared for them as much as he can, even though he can't express it in standard norms.

And of those people was you, his assistant for a year. You were completely intimidated when you first saw him. He was the Demon Attorney, anyone would've been. In all of the attorneys that could've been assigned to you for your on-the-job training, it was the Miles Edgeworth.

It only took you a few days to get a good feel of his vibe. So did he with yours. When you came into his office that day, he was skeptical of your skills to be his assistant. He even declined your assistance but after asserting your need for the experience, he let you in. He purposely gave you ludicrous tasks, such as rearranging his bookshelves or fetching files in an archive a few blocks away, just to see your capabilities.

"I'll get right on it, Sir!"

"Understood."

"Will that be all, Mr. Edgeworth?"

These were all that left your lips whenever he gives you chores. Repeatedly, those were your replies, each with astounding enthusiasm. It surprised him every time. When he started to get used to it, the duties became less absurd. Not only that, it seemed he has developed feelings for you as well.

"Nonsense. I don't have time to deal with such trivial matters." He always muttered to himself whenever he found himself thinking about you. He tried to convince himself that but what he really thought was,

"She is but an assistant. One that won't even last long in my office. After her required hours, she'll leave. I shouldn't get too attached." He denied his feelings so that neither of you would get hurt. Or at least, so that you wouldn't get hurt.

But all these worries faded as he watched you quietly snore as you peacefully slept on your makeshift desk. He told you to work on it, but he didn't expect you to try and pull an all-nighter for him.

"You idiot..." He whispered and slowly walked toward you. Only the small desk lamp brought light in the room and it hit your face perfectly, giving you a soft glow. He realized that his footsteps didn't go unnoticed when he saw you open your eyes.

It took you a while to discern your surroundings and when you realized he was there, you panicked.

"S- Sir! I apologize for falling asleep on the job! Today's activities might have exhausted me too much. I'll get right back on it--"

"Go home, _____." He cut you off, making your eyes widen as you stared at him.

"N- no, sir! I can still- "

"_____, no. Go home. I appreciate your efforts but you are also human. You need your rest. You may continue your work tomorrow, okay?" He insisted with a small smile. This made you shut up and nod. Put in a blush in the package, will you. You couldn't see it in the dim lighting but a dust of pink appeared on his cheeks as well.

"Okay, Mr. Edgeworth. Will do." You gave in, standing up and getting your purse. Smiling at him too, you made your way out his door. Before you could reach the doorknob, you heard his voice again.

"Miles."

"Sir?" You couldn't hear him properly so you side glanced him. He was looking over his shoulder to look at you as well.

"You can call me, Miles." Your smile getting even wider, you nodded once more.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow, Miles."

Again, you didn't see it, this time it was because you've left the room, but a deep red now covered his cheeks.

"Dammit." Was all he could say as he tried to calm down his rapidly beating heart.
