Harry was returning from the Quidditch pitch when he was stopped by a flustered Cedric Diggory. Ron, who was walking next to him stopped as well.

Harry smiled at Cedric, "Hi." He said happily.

Quidditch practice always cheered him up no matter what, especially if it was with his best friend. The sky was clear and the wind blew happily through the blck strands of his hair.

"Hey," Cedric breathed, his lips curved into a bashful smile. "I wanted to talk to you." He looked at Harry and then glanced at Ron, "Alone."

"Oh erm," Harry looked awkwardly at Ron, "You can go, I'll see you in a bit, yeah?"

Ron nodded suspiciously and gave Cedric the stink-eye as he shouldered past him.

Harry chuckled, Ron always acted like the over protective brother ever since he had come out as gay.

Harry looked expectantly at Cedric and pressed his Firebolt under his arm. Cedric sighed and plucked every ounce of courage he had.

"Harry." He pulled a rose from his pocket. A red rose with delicate petals. "You are really an amazing and beautiful person. And I really really like you. Would you go out with me?" Cedric's cheeks colored.

Harry was too stunned to speak, he scrunched up his face thoughtfully. "Can I have some time to think?" He ducked his head coyly.

"Yeah, of course." The Hufflepuff nodded encouragingly. "You can tell me by this Sunday." He placed the rose in between Harry's fingers and walked away after pecking him on the cheek.

Harry shook his head and stared at the rose. It was a dark red, the petals were soft and looked fresh.

He grimaced.

He never liked red roses.

Yet when he went back to his dorm, he put the rose in the vase next to his bed.
