W// manipulation, mentions of verbal/ physical abuse/ death & grooming

When Tubbo decided to turn the TV on at 9 pm on the Saturday after their third-to-last show, he wasn't expecting the faces of his best friend's abusive parents. He reached for the remote, trying his hardest to get rid of it before Tommy saw it but when he couldn't find it– the man had thrown it after turning on the box not thinking– he turned to Boo for help. Standing next to Boo, with the remote in his hand, stood Tommy. The darker brunette sucked in a breath and went to spew out an apology but the taller one raised a finger to his lips and sat down, turning up the volume.

The two elders of the group exchanged a concerned glance, Tubbo going to speak again before the blonde quietened him once again. Ranboo sucked in a breath and slowly took a seat on the armrest beside his platonic soulmate, ready to take the remote from him and change the channel. Tommy turned up the volume some more and leaned on his knees, watching the interview with much focus.

"The one that the public has come to know as Tommy Innit from Sleepy Bois Inc is, in fact, our son, Thomas Avia," His mother said with a sweet tone in her voice. Manipulative bastard. She looked at her husband before turning back to the interviewer. "He ran from us a few months back, we tried to get him to come home but he started talking about how we mistreated him– which we never did, he was our angel– and we were convinced that he had joined a cult."

"The next time we saw him, he had colour through his hair and piercings all over his face, swearing every which-way"

The interviewer nodded his head, "So you think that he was manipulated by the other members of his band?"

"It's the only excuse!" His mother cried again. "He was a perfect violinist who had a bright future ahead of him, then he met two teenagers who brought out the worst in him. All those men in that band are way older than him, they shouldn't be near a seventeen-year-old like our son. I think he was coaxed into it, used for fame."

Tommy watched with all the focus he had, his eyes never leaving the screen or a word in his mouth. He barely moved. How dare they play the victim. How dare they drag his family through the mud as if they were nothing.

"We just want our boy back." His father concluded, wrapping an arm around his wife. "We gave him so much love and attention, only for him to throw it into our faces and prance around as Tommy Innit. Was our name not good enough for him?"

"He's just a boy–"

Tubbo turned off the TV.

But the damage was done.

Turns out, everyone else had watched the interview as well. They elected not to mention a word to Tommy but after the other two teenagers revealed he had seen it, there was no going back. The news picked it up quickly and began to report on it, newspapers were setting up to publish the news– Bad had managed to find out that information and Skeppy was currently fighting for it to stay put– and people were talking.

Tommy knew he would have to clean this up.

No one could speak for him, the teenager was going to have to butt heads with his parents, yet again, and defend himself for the final time. He was over this loop that he was stuck in. They ruined everything he built for himself; why couldn't they let it go for fucks sake?

"Get me a live interview," The blonde said. It was the first thing he had said all day, instead of staying in his head. Everyone turned to look at him, some with sympathy, others pity and his best friends with concern. It was clear that Tommy was pissed.
