Just as Kendra and Seth were settling down on the couch to watch a movie,  Andromadus suddenly appeared. Kendra screamed in surprise and nearly fell of the couch. Seth, as expected, was laughing his head off. Kendra, realizing what she had done, blushed and sat down, completely embarrassed. Seth turned to Andromadus, "Sorry about that" he said, still chuckling at his sister's reaction. "So, what are you here for?" "I'm here to retrieve you two, at the summons of Merek, who has finally resurrected" came the reply. "YES!" exclaimed Seth. "I was starting to miss that guy." Kendra was more practical." That's great and all, but how long will we be gone exactly, and also where?" "I have no answer, but I assume he would not call you for too long. He did however, mention the Black Well." Andromadus replied. "It sounded urgent." he added as an afterthought. Kendra sighed, then said "Alright fine, lets go." "Yes! I knew boring Kendra wouldn't spoil this!" Seth shouted. Kendra rolled her eyes. In an instant, they were standing in the center of Wyrmroost castle. Merek came out and greeted them. He looked happy, a lot happier than he had when the dragon war was going on. However, his expression had a hint of sadness in it.. He said "It is good to see you, although that was not why I had called you on such short notice. I called you due to a current stirring in the Blackwell. I was hoping that you could help me discover the cause, as I have no staff who can speak with them." Seth, Kendra and Merek went over to the well, where those locked inside were practically screaming into Seth's mind.

Seth sighed. He had hoped it wouldn't come to this. It was ... unpleasant to talk with the undead, and the rest of the demons. He knew it had to be done though. He peered into the gloom and cast out his thoughts. As always, the demons were busy moping and whining in eternal hunger. Seth looked closer, and realized the demons weren't all dreary today. They had an underlying note of eagerness, as if they knew something was coming. Seth stepped away from the well. He didn't need to talk to them. He knew their answers would be the same. Suppressing a shiver, he quickly told Kendra and Merek what he had found, as well as his suspicions. Merek left soon after, engrossed in his thoughts. Kendra speculated some great power, but she didn't know what. She had an inkling in the back of her mind, but she blocked it out, hoping that it wasn't what she thought it was.

They were confused and sullen when they left, unsure of what terrible thing would happen next. Fortunately, they had no time to think before their grandparents surprised them. "We're going to the beach!" "WOO-HOO!" Seth shouted, all his bad thoughts being catapulted from his mind faster than the speed of light. "We've already packed your stuff, now all you have to do is hop in and have fun!" Grandma Sorenson explained. Kendra was less easily shaken out of her thoughts, even by the beach, which she loved. "Tess and Knox will be there too." her grandma enticed. That did it. Kendra, caught up in Seth's eagerness, smiled in spite of herself. "Let's go!" she cheered.
