"In the town of Rainfalls, nothing is ever the same. The only exception... that everyone in this town will say to any newcomer is the continuous light rain as the days go by, the slashing of water seems... abnormal on rare occasions."
"Uh-huh. But it can't be that out of the ordinary." Marie Noir said to the cashier. Mrs. Noir held her daughter's hand as she tried to escape from her mother's grasp while the cashier finished his story.
It has been a few weeks since the Noir family moved to Rainfalls, Six had barely turned five and was too excited to see the many places Rainfalls had to offer.
"Madam, trust me. Things involving rain or water are considered 'the sore thumb' around here along with the events." He finishes scanning and bagging the groceries.
"That'll be $43.57." She pays, grabs the bags, and places them in the cart.
"Have a nice day, Mrs."
"To you as well. Come now, Six." Six walks over. They walk out of the store heading towards the car.
"Mom, I can carry one." The small child points to a bag as the two cross the parking lot row.
"Um, sure." She hands her a bag of two loaves of bread.
Six gives a short evil laugh, "Hehe! I'm getting there first!" She sprints to the car with the bread as far as her little feet can take her.
"Six, slow down!" Mrs. Noir said, quickening her pace with the heavy cart.
The two managed to make a safe journey home. Although this story is just beginning, much beyond here is yet to be told.
