I'm afraid I'll lose you

The rest of the night was boring for Jeff. He was with Britta. The two of them had fun together but he would never try to be with her again. He made this mistake in the past and they weren't meant to be together. She was making him feel younger but she couldn't help him grow up.
She wasn't like Annie.

Annie made him want to be a better person. She could understand him and she wouldn't change him in the wrong way. She was trying to make him the best.
Maybe it wasn't good that she didn't want to change him but that's Annie.

She expects everybody to be better than who they are and she expects herself to be better than everyone, which is cool. As Troy would say.

Troy walked to Jeff.
"Hello" he waved.
"Hey" Jeff nodded.
"Um. Can I ask you something? I know I look like I've changed but I haven't. Inside I'm still this kid. Anyway, I wanted to ask you if it's okay to be with Annie" he asked politely.
"What do you mean if it's okay? It's okay for me" he said but Troy already knew the answer. As Jeff understood Troy wouldn't answer, he added "Look, I know I made out with Annie some times but I care about her as you do so if she's happy with you..." he stopped for a little "I'm happy"

This was kind of true. He was happy that Annie was happy but he would prefer it if Annie was happy with him.

"Cool" Troy said and walked away.
Jeff touched the glass with the scotch. Then looked at Annie. She was drinking water. Troy was drinking water too. "Why do I have to be the oldest?" he thought. Then Britta came. She had a beer in her hand.

"Go talk to her" she said. It took a minute for Jeff to understand that she was talking to him about Annie.
"No I can't!" He looked at her again. Maybe he could.

Frankie came. When this woman started talking Jeff became sleepy. She was too smart. Too smart for this college.

"Guys. It's late. The party is over" Jeff shouted.
"What are you doing?" Britta hit him in his arm.

Troy came. "Jeff's right. Annie, Abed, Britta lets go. Night guys. Thanks for the party" he said and pushed with his hand Annie from the back.

Jeff was drunk. He couldn't see them together.

"Who do you think you are?" he pushed Troy and Troy almost fell down.
"What are you doing man? Are you drunk?" Troy acted like nothing happened.

Jeff looked at Annie. She was hiding behind Troy. She was afraid of him. He ruined everything. Annie would never love him again.

"Sorry... I ruined everything. I am afraid I'll lose-" but Annie interrupted.
"Let's go Troy" and held his hand.

They walked away. There was nothing he could do.
