It was a ordinary day in New York, the sun was shinning, taxi horns were honking, and people hurrying to get to their jobs. I just love New York so much, I mean this is the place I've lived in for all of my life, how could I not love it. I was about to go to England in two days and I was really excited. I am going to study in the music business so my uncle said I could stay at a hotel and be an intern at his record label.
I probably forgot to mention that Simon Cowl is my uncle. That's right Simon Cowl is my uncle. He's not actually such a bad guy. He's always been there for me no matter what.
My name is Kate Cowl I am twenty years old and of course I live in New York for now. I have thick brown hair, brown eyes, and I love to sing. My mom and dad are happy for me, but I know that they are going to miss me.
I am going to the bank to get my money for the trip, I know uncle Simon, mom, and dad will probably give me some money but still I'm not that helpless. I got five hundred dollars and then I called a cab. I told the driver where to go and I started to watch the buildings pass by. I wonder what I will get to do at the recording studio. I am just so excited, I can't wait till Friday.
As I climb the stairs to my apartment I hum my favorite song, fireworks, by Katy Perry. She is my favorite singer of all time. I have been secretly hoping that since uncle Simon is such a big deal and all that he might know her. It would be amazing to actually meet her.
When I unlocked the door to my apartment my mom and dad were sitting on the couch. I stepped into the living room and said hi to both of them. My parents usually came over every once and a while to check up on me even though they just live a couple of blocks away from me. They both said hi simultaneously and then said jinx.
My parents are hilarious and they have true love, I have always wanted what my parents have but I just haven't seem to find it yet.
"Honey have you eaten today yet" Mom asked.
"I ate at twelve this afternoon and I am starving" I said as my stomach growled.
"Good, your dad and I wanted to take you out to eat before you left. Go get on some nice clothes and be ready in ten minutes."
"Ok my mom all be back in ten" I replied walking to my room. I decided to wear a cute black dress with back heels that have studs on them.
"I'm ready" I called from the hallway.
"So we're are we going to tonight" I asked while grabbing my purse and putting my phone into it.
"You will have to wait and see" my dad said maliciously. We all laughed for a good five minutes.
We left the building and got into a taxi. My dad, mom, and I sat in the back seat. Dad told the driver the directions which I didn't hear because I had been thinking about what I needed for my trip.
Most of the car ride was quiet, mom and dad were talking about something but I didn't know what. We pulled up to a old building with brick walls and with a couple of cars parked in front. Dad payed the driver as we stepped out of the car. "Where are we?" I asked my father.
"You'll see sweetheart" Dad replied. As I walked in the door everyone yelled surprise and I nearly hit the roof from jumping up so high.
Everyone laughed at my reaction. My best friends Olivia, Stormy, and Loren came running up to me.
"That was so hilarious" Stormy yelled.
"Stormy you don't have to yell were standing right next to you" Loren exclaimed.
"I know but I am just so happy right now" stormy said.
"Did you guys do all this for me" I asked amazed. They said yes and we all screamed together.
I have four of the most fantastic friends in history. There is Stormy, Olivia, and Loren. Stormy is twenty, has dirty blond hair and has white skin and is crazy all the time. Olivia is also twenty, has long thick brown hair, tan skin, and is active all the time. Loren is twenty, has blond hair, white skin and is pretty laid back compared to the rest of the girls.
Inside the club there was probably about fifty people and a dj playing my favorite songs. Stormy and Olivia's boyfriends came up and said hi to me. Seth, Olivia's boyfriend, was skinny, about five foot nine, and wore glasses. Stormy's boyfriend, Johnny, is five foot six, has short hair and wasn't so cute but I guess stormy thought he was. Olivia kissed her boyfriend then went to go dance. Stormy and Johnny followed Olivia and Seth onto the dance floor. Loren and I didn't have boyfriends but Loren was into a guy named Tom.
I saw that Tom was sitting at a table talking to some of his friends. I told Loren to go talk to him and she said no a couple of times but after a while she finally gave up and said yes. I know that Tom really liked Loren because they would be the perfect couple and you could tell by how they looked at each other. I looked back at the table Loren and Tom were at and I saw them get up and join stormy and Olivia and their boyfriends on the dance floor. I went over to the bar and asked for a coke. I never drank alcohol because I hated it and because I didn't want the side effects that came with it. Out of the four of us stormy was the only one who drank. Stormy is quite the party girl but she was one of my best and closest friends. I looked over to where they were and started laughing so hard. I love them all to death but they could not dance. I am not the best dancer either but I laughed anyways. My mom came up to the bar and sat next to me. "Are you having fun honey" Mom asked eyeing me. "Yes mom, I'm having plenty of fun" I happily exclaimed.
The night went by in a blur, before I went home I said bye to my family and my friends. When I got into my apartment I went to my bedroom snuggled up in the covers and went to sleep. When I got up the next morning I made breakfast, watched a movie or two, then started packing for my trip tomorrow.
I heard a knock at my door so I went to go get it and the girls came in. They insisted that we would have a girls night after they helped me pack the rest of my things. We went out to the movie store and got a couple movies, some candy, and popcorn. After that we went back to my apartment and watched the movies. Then played truth or dare like thirteen year old girls. We ended up crashing on my couch and bed.
The next morning we got up made breakfast and coffee. Honestly I'm not a fan of coffee but the other girls do and stormy is not a happy camper when she doesn't have her coffee. We got my stuff and went to the airport. We all cried our eyes out while talking about all the good and bad times we had together as we drove. When I had to leave I promised that I will talk to them all the time. I gave each of them hugs and said my good byes. "I will miss you soo much" said Olivia who was crying her eyes out. "Take care of yourself and if you need anything just call" Loren said sadly. "Stay safe and never loose sight of your dreams. Come visit us whenever you can" Stormy said. Even Stormy cried which she almost never does. I knew the girls were going to miss me a lot.
A voice came rolling down the hallways and said "Flight 315 to England is now boarding." Uncle Simon had gotten me first class seats on the airplane. I had never been in first class before. It had reclining seats, personal TVs with as many movies as we wanted for us to watch, earbuds we could keep, as well as pillows and blankets. I watched a couple of movies that I had never seen before then went to sleep. When I got up we were about to land in London were I was staying. As I got off the plane I saw that uncle Simon had a limo to come get me. I walked out of the doors of the airport and saw paparazzi everywhere. I wondered who they were there for but I just shook the thought away and called uncle Simon to tell him I had landed safely and that I was going to my hotel. Then I texted everyone else that I had made it safely. I looked out of the window as we passed the London eye, the palace, Big Ben and double-deckered buses. When I finally arrived at the hotel I got my bags and went to check in. They said I was on the top floor and I had room 506. I was on the twenty fith floor and I had to walk down two hallways to get to my room. I slid the card into the card swiper and opened one of the two doors. I gasped at the sight, it was as ginormous as a house, it had two stories, five bathrooms, a huge kitchen, a living room the size of a regular sweet in a hotel, and five bedrooms. As I walked into the living room I saw someone who I wasn't expecting to be there.
