Chapter 10

Kates pov

The boys had a look of worry on their faces.

"What happened!" Niall asked worried.

"What's wrong" Harry asked.

"Are you okay" Liam questioned.

"If someone did anything bad to you that made you like this I will hurt them." Zayn said and the rest of the boys shook their head in agreement.

"Guys it's nothing just forget it." I said looking back up to Louis and burying my face into his chest. He just rubbed my back and kissed the top of my head again. I feel better with him holding me.

"Sorry Kate you are like our little sister so we are going to protect you from anything or anyone" Niall replied in strong tone.

"Ok fine, nobody did anything to me. Louis just walked in on me singing this morning and I am just really embarrassed" I said waiting for their responses.

"You were singing? I thought you said you couldn't sing though." Harry replied confused.

She can sing but she can't sing in front of people and that's why she is so embarrassed" Louis replied before I could say anything.

I shook my head in agreement.

"Well are you a good singer" asked Zayn.

"I think I can and Louis says I have a voice like an angel but I think he only said that because I'm his girlfriend" I replied truthfully.

"No I didn't say that just because you're my girlfriend, I said it because it was true." Louis replied sweetly.

"Well I want to hear what an angels voice sounds like" Liam begged in a whiny baby's voice.

"NO!  I'm not going to sing in front of someone again.  I'm not that courageous" I yelled a little worried/angry.

"Please" all of them begged.

"Ok fine I will."

"Really" Niall said with a look of anticipation on his face.

"No I was kidding.  I already told you no."

"That wasn't nice." Niall huffed while crossing his arms on his chest.

"It's ok boys, she doesn't have to sing again because I got it on my iPhone but it won't be as good as in person though" Louis replied calmly.

"YOU WHAT! LOUIS DELETE IT NOW!" "Please" I pleaded.

"Nope sorry I can't do that babe. If I do you won't sing for me again so I shall keep it."

"We wanna hear it already" Liam said excitedly.

"Yeah" Zayn said.

"Ok ok lads, don't rush me" Louis replied.

I got up and got a pillow so I could hide my face in it and then sat on the floor.

"Here we go mates" Louis exclaimed and then I heard myself singing.

"Oh my gosh" I heard Niall with his Irish accent exclaim.

"Wow I have finally heard what an angel sounds like." Liam said shocked.

"I have no words to say other than holy cow" Harry said amazed.

"You sound better than I look" Zayn remarked and that made everyone laugh.

I was kind of shocked that they all thought that I was that good. Maybe they were just saying that to make me feel better. Yup that's probably what it is.

"I told you lads that she sounded like an angel" Louis said with a huge grin from ear to ear.

"Thanks guys but I know that y'all are just saying that to make me feel better about myself."

"We aren't saying that to make you feel better. Did you even hear yourself on Louis's recording" Niall said.

"He's right ya know" Louis agreed.

"Ok thanks. I guess I have just developed this theory that everyone thought that I was a horrible singer." I replied tired and still embarrassed.

"I guess I should tell y'all the story" I sighed.

"What story?" Louis asked as he put an arm around me.

"Well when I was little, I entered a talent show and when I got up to sing, I took a seat and looked out into the audience. The music started playing and I sang a couple of verses but then I saw that the crowd was starting to get bored. I started to feel dizzy and I fainted right in the middle of the song. And that's why I'm afraid to sing in front of people" I said really fast pace hoping they wouldn't have enough time to judge me.

"Ok I have to admit that is a really good reason to fear singing in public" Zayn replied in awe of my story.

"Yeah that must have been horrible." Niall agreed.

All the boys just nodded their heads in agreement.

"It was terrifying and I hope that it doesn't happen to me again."

"I wish that I would have been there so I could have made sure that that didn't happen." Louis said sympathetically.

"It's ok, everything is done for a reason." I said with a weak smile.

"If your up for it Kate, all of us and you could do a song together if you wanted to. That's only if you want to do it though" Harry said with hope in his eyes.

"Yeah that's a great idea Harry" they all yelled.

"Well I know that you guys already like my singing so I'll do it, but what about uncle Simon?" I nervously replied.

"Well we could do it secretly then when we are done we could let him hear it. If he doesn't like it then we can always post it on YouTube" Harry said.

"Well I guess I'm in. I am so excited guys!" I said while jumping up and down yet kinda frightened on the inside.

"I can't wait either, I am so proud of you for doing this" Louis said while picking me up and spinning me around.

This was going to be a very eventful experience.
