43.The beginning of chaos

Illumi POV

I froze at his words.I had not expected this kind of worry from the red-headed man that now stood in front of me.

Instead of his usual,confident,yet graceful struts;he now leaned carefully against a tree trunk,flipping a single card in between his pale fingers.

This once I could read him.

I analyzed him carefully,how he'd rake his fingers through his locks of  hair in a worry full way.How he starred at the ground, his eyes boring holes into the earth.

But his eyes.

I found myself starring into those amber eyes of his,that brimmed with rage.It was much similar to Kurapikas,one of Y/N's friends,but it was much much more intense.

I clenched my jaw tightly,balling my fists at my sides.

Something bad happened.

His eyes said it all.

And it had to do with Y/N.
 

Timeskip

Hisoka pov

My face lacked the smirk I usually carried and my posture slouched.

I had told Illumi about Y/N's disappearance.I left out any other details.

He looked skeptical.Starring at me with a finger nail resting on his bottom lip.

He was considering.

I had carefully explained to him any important details and the clues she had foolishly left behind.

Despite her being quite observant,she lacked awareness.

His voice echoing through-out the clearing caught my attention.

"I'll help y-."

But he was quickly cut off as a buzzing came from my pocket.

He followed my gaze as I dug through my pocket,retreating my phone.

A single notification showed brightly on the Home Screen.

It was Machi.

I read carefully over it,an amused smirk placing itself on my face.

"Your late again?Or are you just deciding not to show up?You never take these meetings seriously.Boss wants you here. Now."

"How bothersome~."I sighed.

Meanwhile

I chewed my lip nervously.

Me and Chrollo stood in a different part of the building,away from the rest of the members and alone.

My stomach filled with anxiety and it felt as if someone had been choking me,restricting me of breathing.

I reached a hand up to gently rub my throat,where I had imagined the invisible hands to be.

A lazy smile rested on his lips as he approached me.
