It was an hour after Zayn had left him alone that he had to check up on the 11 year old. Peeking into the opened door, he saw Bently, sitting with his back to the back board of the bed. He was staring at his hands, and he smiffed.

"Hey, bud. How are you doing?" He asked softly, opening the door just a bit more. Bently looked up and sniffed again, having tears well up in his eyes. He quickly blinked them away.

"Sorry." He mumbled, trying and failing to hide the hurt in his voice. "You don't have to apologize for being human, love. Do you want to talk about it?" Bently shook his head, he wasn't good at hiding his emotions but he didn't want to voice them at the moment either.

"I do have a question though." Zayn nodded, "shoot." He stated, coming into the room and closing the door. "Uh, where's your bathroom?" Zayn chuckled, shaking his head. "It's down at the end of the hall. I can show you around after you come back out."

Bently nodded and stood, rounding around Zayn a lot farther than Zayn had expected but he understood. Zayn waited outside Bently's bedroom and when  he came back out, he started his tour.

"......And this is the kitchen, where all the magic happens." Bently looked around again, his stomach growling, but not in a good way.

"Dinner is alomst done, by the way." Liam stated, still consentrated on the spaghetti sause in front of him. "I'm not really hungry actually." Bently muttered, kicking at the tile, his hands folded at his back while he looked at the spot he was kicking.

"I won't make you eat tonight but I do want you to be down here to have family dinners, alright?" Bently rolled his eyes at that, stuffing his hands in his pockets while he siddenly looked up at Zayn in angered confusion.

"Why? You never bothered to before." Zayn flinched back for a half a second and stepped back a few steps. Bently's eyes filled with tears and he sniffed before running out of the room.

Zayn watched him go and his own eyes filled with tears before he looked at his fiancé, who was on the way to embracing him. "Just give him a while. It is only the first day and he is probably hurt and confused. I missed my dad even though he would beat the crap out of me day and night. I understand what he is feeling right now. He just needs time, and patience. If you want, I can try and talk to him. This is going to take a while to set in with him, you know?" Zayn nodded, picking at a loose strand of the shirt.

"Try and understand, love. He'll come around." With that, he pulled away. "Wipe those tears, love. He didn't mean it." Zayn sat down with his head in his hands.

"Why didn't the boys ever go through this?" He asked himself, sighing at his plate. "Hun, Harry and Louis had been in foster care for years. The initial hurt had already came and went. Niall's and Lilly are only 3 and a half and they didn't have a bad home. Allison, sadly, did go through it and it happend really fast. Greg, Jacob, and Olivia weren't in a bad home either. Nick was only 4 and a half when we got him and he didn't have to deal with it. You and Bently did and sadly, Bently got the really short straw and was left with a monster. You can't blame yourself, Zee." Zayn rolled his eyes and sighed.

"I could've, when I turned 18 but you know what, I ran off to follow my dreams and forgot about him." Liam got up and crouched in front of him.

"You can't help Bently, if you can't forgive yourself. You will only make his life hell. You have to forgive youself and help him to the right path, no matter how hard it gets and I'll be there to help. Hun, if you don't forgive yourself, Bently won't forgive you either." With a cautious eye, he nodded.
