Unicorns

       It was now late October and Marlee was sitting under a tree staring into the forbidden forest thinking of her past weeks at Hogwarts. It had been nothing of what she had expected Hogwarts to be like. She had hardly any friends and was always being picked on by Draco Malfoy. Everyone in the school forgot about the whole nightmare incident thankfully, besides Malfoy. He would constantly bring it up and call her little nightmare girl.

Marlee sighed in frustration. Deciding a walk would help her cool off, Marlee started towards the forbidden forest. She knew she was not allowed to go into the forest but she found it peaceful. Once Marlee reached the edge of the forest she stood in hesitation. She remembered older students talking about how there were werewolves and trolls in the forest. She also remembered the mention of hippogriffs and bowtruckles.

Taking a deep breath Marlee began making her way through the forbidden forest. After walking for a few minutes Marlee noticed the trees started to get bigger and the leaves thicker. Deciding it would be too dangerous to continue forward she turned around.

When she turned around Marlee was in shock when she saw a baby unicorn. She noticed the unicorn looked scared.

"Hello little one." Marlee said, holding her hand out and walking towards the unicorn.

As she got closer the unicorn let out a cry.

"No need to be frightened, I won't hurt you."

Marlee sat down next to the unicorn and began to stroke its mane.

"See, no need to be scared"

The unicorn brought its head to sniff her hand.

"Your mane is very soft." she said to the unicorn.

Even though the unicorn could not understand what Marlee was saying it seemed to calm the unicorn down.

"I wonder where your family has gone."

The unicorn eye's meet Marlee

"Seems you don't know either."

Marlee sat with the creature for a few minutes until she heard a horse-like call. At the noise, the baby unicorn started to make noise back. Marlee was confused until she saw a grown unicorn. Marlee gasps at the beautiful creature in front of her. Its pearly white mane stood out to her.

The baby unicorn stood up and sniffed Marlee's hair, Marlee watched confused as the baby made its way to its mother. The baby and the mother then trotted away through the forest.

Marlee sat in shock for a moment of what just happened. She had seen a real life unicorn. A grin began to appear on her face. Marlee knew at that moment that she wanted to learn even more about magical creature.

Got to admit that this is not my best work, I had written this chapter as a filler and more for character growth reasons lol. Thank you guys for 88 reads! I struggle a lot with writing and it means the world to me that people are reading my book! I would love to hear feedback so I know what I need to work on in my writing!
